Very Good-Quality, but Not Generously Cut - Plain and Nun-Like, Rather than Feminine and Pretty
It is getting more difficult every year to find cotton-knit nightgowns in the US. This nightgown has almost everything I was looking for: the fabric is a smooth, soft, lightweight, quality cotton; the construction is high-quality; the neckline is the right height and the length is good. I really wanted to give this a five-star rating, but I was dissapointed with a few features: I am a US size 14-16, and the fit us ok, but not generous, it would not fit a US size 18 as advertised. The back yoke, although it is sewn with elastic thread, feels a little snug and really bothers me at times, but I am relatively large in the upper body, both in bust and shoulders, compared with many women. It might work better on women of different proportions. The sleeves end about 6 or 7 inches above my wrist-bone when I extend my arms, so I consider this a 3/4 length, not a long, sleeve as advertised (“long sleeves” are supposed to just cover the wrist-bone by a 1/2 to 1 inch or so.) I might be moderately long-limbed, but not extremely so; I am just under 5’6” tall. The appearance of the gown is very plain, I prefer gowns with more feminine details, like contrasting ribbon or embroidery, picot or lettuce edging, or some cotton lace trimming, etc., especially in this price range. I bought several of these, and I don’t like the solid colors, pink blue and white, that much. The prints are prettier, but I was unable to get the colors and sizes I wanted in them. The last thing I want is to look sexy when I’m trying to sleep, but I do want to feel feminine and pretty. I think this is like what a nun would wear, not a luxury gown.

Disappointed.
I would have given this five stars but having worn this for the first time last night, I found out the hard way that the elastic satin trim around the neck is made of/with LATEX and consequently made my neck break out, (or it was the embroidered emblem on the front bodice). As Latex is a common allergy, this should have been noted in the description and I wouldn't have bought it. But now I have washed it, worn it once and cut the label out. I guess it's mine. It's beautiful fabric and fits well, although sleeves are a little short. I am disappointed.

It just keeps getting worse!
Sorry for the lack of compliments. I have worn Calida nightgowns for 30 years and always loved them. So very soft and keeps you warm. But, over the years, the quality has noticeably deteriorated. Significantly! And the price has escalated. Significantly! I just paid $98 for a 100% cotton (long) nightgown with the signature Calida design, long sleeves. However, it is so sheer that you can almost see through it. And, it is now only 48" long. Originally, they came down to my ankles, which would have made it about 54" long. However, that length didn't last, as over the years my current (10-year-old) gown now comes to my knees. That's a loss of 8 inches! And the same for the sleeves. I expected some shrinkage, but Calida is really going cheap! Sorry, folks. I can no longer recommend what I used to think was the best nightgown made.

Calida Long Length and sleeved Nightgown
I submitted 1 review already. The Calida Nightgown, while nicely styled, was oversized and the material is quite thin. I thought I was buying a long sleeved Winter nightgown but this gown isn't substantial enough for very cold weather. It's a good thing that I live in Texas where we get only occasional cold snaps. I had wanted 1 of the Calida Swiss gown for years but the expense prohibited buying one. I decided to splurge but am disappointed that I did so. Perhaps, the gowns are made in China now !

Nightgown review
I bought these for my elderly mother to wear in the summer. They are light weight, stylish, long sleeve since she feels the cold more. I was disappointed in one of them the seam on one side of the yoke had to be hand stitched since it was coming apart. These nightgowns were$70-80 each. I would expect better quality. They are pretty and only had 1 defective nightgown.

I prefer simpler gowns like the plain Hanro ones
I prefer simpler gowns like the plain Hanro ones, but it's hard to find plain long sleeve nightgowns. This gown was a little fussier than I like, but was soft and comfortable. I usually wear small or medium in Hanro, bought a medium and it fits fine. The sleeves shrunk and it's much shorter after washing and drying, but is plenty long on my 5' 4" frame.

Fantastic nightie!
Fantastic nightie! Soft, fits perfectly. Washes well, does not pill. I love the lightness, and do not get too hot during the night as I do with a flannel nightgown. (Note: I was excited to find this available, as it is my second one of the exact make. (I have had the first one for years -- until my washer put a set of tiny holes in it, and needed to be replaced. May have to replace the washer too! ha ha)

Wonderful soft gown of excellent quality
A surprisingly wonderful gown. Soft, comfortable gown with long sleeves and ample length--so hard to find in gowns today. I am fairly tall 5'8" and long gowns tend to run too short on me. This one is perfect--hits just a few inches above my ankles. Most cotton knit gowns I've had shrink at least 4 inches when put in the dryer. Not so with this one. Washes and dries beautifully on low, no shrinkage at all. Feels like silk, is roomy, and moves easily in bed, no binding or twisting. Knit is just the right weight--will work for multiple seasons and is not see through. The neckline is a bit higher than I am used to, but it is comfortable. I like the gown so much I ordered another one in blue. I am very picky about gowns and this one is truly excellent in fit, comfort, and beauty.
