Northern International Real Wax Flameless LED Candle Set w/Dual Timer Feature and Remote Control - Batteries Included - Set of 5

So... friend of mine has some 'real wax fake candles' at his house and I saw them when I visited him about a year ago. I thought they were pretty cool and he went on about how cool they are so.. I was having a Grateful Dead Moment and decided to look up 'real wax fake candles' and there they were. They looked like the ones at my friends house and the price was cool so I ordered them. They are cool as a cucumber sandwich on sour dough bread with Hellman's Real Mayo with a squeeze of lemon and a dash of sea salt with the crusts cut off. The vanilla smell is very faint but you can definitely smell it, the light is great, the remote control works fine.. even though because I'm so smart and didn't read the instructions I didn't think they were working. Yeah, well, if you take out the little piece of plastic between the battery and terminal so the battery doesn't die and hit the ON button they work fine.Bottom line, the seller was on the ball, took them less than 10 days to get here and the product itself is without question worth the price. You'd be certifiable if you didn't buy these, seriously.

What I liked the most was being able to turn the candles off and on by remote control and being able to set the hours that the candles are on to five or ten hours. We use two of the candles on porch sconces and the tallest one on the porch table. We are saving the shortest two for Christmas. We find that the flickering glow and the wax on the exterior gives them a very realistic appearance.

I didn't give it only 1 star because they do look very nice - but what is wrong with my nose? They smelled of vanilla in the box - now nothing! No smell at all. I'm returning them.Update: The company's customer service department is outstanding! They immediately refunded the purchase price and offered a free replacement. I'll keep these for our hurricane season. I'll buy from them again to be sure.

These candles are beautiful and work really well ... and I love that they have a 5 and 10 hour timer. The remote is very convenient because if you have the candles inside a lantern ... you don't have to open up the lantern and take them out in order to turn them on/off or set the timer. I had a problem in which my remote stopped working, but the company replaced it at no charge for me and their customer service was excellent.

Well packaged, good quality wax but I don't like the orange glow, Definitely doesn't look natural.

Much prefer candles that use the AAs instead of the cell batteries which don't last as long. The flicker is within the body of the candle and doesn't extend to the top or above the candle. This is different than the flat-top LED design using a plastic leaf-shape and tiny fan to simulate flickering. We personally prefer the latter, which throws a shadow above the candle for a more realistic overall impression, especially when set in groups.Would like to see a set of just the 3" pillars - perhaps one is already offered, but didn't see anything and needed these before a party ASAP.

I love these candles!!! I bought these right before Hurricane Florence and when the power went out I had these babies on for 2 nights! I loved that they are battery powered and I could take one to another room, and shower or to find things as needed. I can't really show you, but they put out some good light, soft but still strong. My family would take one as needed for things and it became a lifesaver. We had flashlights, but who wants that strong of a light to read bedtime stories? These are awesome, I plan on getting another set to be ready for the next thing that comes! I haven't had them long, so can't say how long the batteries will last, but I had bought some before the storm so was good anyway. They had a nice light vanilla scent and smells great, I wish they had more options, but other than that I have no complaints!

They really work well. I didn't care so much about the fragrance, but they wax exterior, realistic flicker and light, and the realistic wick are as close to a real candle as I think it's possible to get. The remote works well, but only if you are close the to candles. I purchased TWO sets, and one remote works to control all candles from both sets. Very pleased, and would highly recommend.
