By far the best litter I've tried, works amazing with automatic litterboxes
We adopted an older cat from a friend, inheriting his LitterMaid automatic litter box with him. We thought it'd be nice to give it a try. We bought some litter from the store and tried it.Some history, first (skip to ---- for direct review of this product). For the past year and a half, I've tried at least 4 to 5 types of litter with this thing -- lightweight Tidy Cats to Fresh Step and who knows what else. They would stick to the bottom of the pan, track everywhere, gunk up in the prongs, and crumble to leave millions of pieces of soiled litter behind. And gosh, the ammonia smell. We tried all of the ammonia tricks, including just making sure our cat had no medical problems and ensuring he stayed hydrated. We ordered an automatic air freshener sprayer just to try to make the scent bearable, but naturally, didn't work too well. I was on the verge of considering getting rid of it and going back to manual scoop. Until Lucy's!---------------I saw someone recommend this litter somewhere and it's legitimately the best litter I have ever used. I am so glad I gave it a shot. We've used it for two weeks now and haven't smelled our litter box a single time. It clumps beautifully, leaving no dark soiled pieces behind. It falls easily off of our cat's paws and onto the litter mat, instead of him tracking it everywhere. It releases from the Littermaid prongs super cleanly. The unique bag is actually amazing and easy to pour, even if it sometimes ships in an awkwardly-oversized box. I used to gag from the ammonia smell and get super frustrated because I knew it was also unhealthy for our cat. I haven't had to even smell ammonia since I got this litter. Our cat also loves it -- he uses the restroom easily and often, where before I think he was putting it off.Appreciate this product a lot! Would completely recommend for anyone, but especially for frustrated LitterMaid (or similar automatic litterbox product) users.

I've tried 'em all.
I love my cats but I hate cleaning the cat box. Did I say that I HATE cleaning the cat box? I have been willing to try anything to make the job easier and less stinky. This is the best cat sand that I have tried. I've tried all the brands in the stores and If you can find anything better than this one let me know, cuz I've tried A L L of them. Some products are stinky right out of the box and will stink up the room before my cat even touches it. Don't misunderstand, even with this product, the kitty potty still needs to be scooped, and the more often it's scooped, the longer the sand will last. I change this sand completely about every two weeks, and scoop often. For those of you who are like me, I will make a couple of recommendations. 1) Buy this cat sand product and scoop often. 2) use two cat box liners because kittys sometime scratch through the plastic. If the liner is not torn then only change and replace one liner. 3) use "Smiling Paws Pets Cat Litter Deodorizer" (currently not available but works great and one can will last months and months if you can find it). 4) Get a "Litter Genie Plus Pail." Mine sits next to the Kitty Box and it's so easy to scoop and dump. There is no smell from the Litter Genie; it's easy to use after you figure it out; I only change the bag every 3-4 weeks, (sorry if that sounds gross, but it's way better than dumping a plastic bag every day or two, and really good order control). Cat box smell can be awful. Unfortunately, for us cat lovers, our noses acclimate to the stinkyness. When people come into a house, they can smell a dirty litter box from one end of the house to the other. Most people with manners won't say anything. But seriously, none of us want a stinky house, nor do we want to give up our furry companions. I don't know of a perfect solution, but this is the best solution I have found. . . so far.

Best. Litter. EVER!!!
This litter is phenomenal. It is super fine which my cats a love. It completely neutralize their ammonia which I love. I mix one jug of unscented with one jug of lavender which gives just the faintest hint of scent And it is a very natural smelling scent, not perfumey me at all. It clumps really nice and doesn't track very much at all.

The absolute best
Hands down no other litter works was well as this! I have tried the lavender from Lucy’s as well and it is horrid…. However the un scented litter is actual magic. It clumps well, hardly any dust, and doesn’t track like other brands. It keeps smells to a minimum! The only thing is that it is hard to find and often out of stock online so I find myself ordering as much as I can when it is available.

Lucy Pet Vs Costco
Side by side comparison between the unscented vs Costco litter. Tested over several weeks with gradual introduction and kidding with the Costco one so the cats don't freak out. Also did a same volume of water clump test (pictured)1. Dust - both claim to be pretty much dust free, but the Lucy Pet one has noticably less floating in the air when refilling a litter box. Winner - Lucy Pet2. Clumpability - they both clump pretty well but the Lucy Pet one clumps faster and a bit more solidly (picture of disc that's unbroken). The Costco one eventually becomes pretty solid as well after a few minutes but at the same amount of time passed, the Costco disk broke because it was softer (pictured). Winner - Lucy Pet3. Easy of use - both have handles but the (20lb) container is much easier to maneuver. Also has more plastic though. Trade off? Winner - Lucy Pet4. Cost (short term) - Costco beats this one hands down. Hard to beat Costco in price.5. Cost (long-term) - hard to tell. Lucy Pet clumps better so it's possible that you may not go through it as quickly if it is scooped regularly but how long it will go without needing to be changed is a tough call depending on number of cats.Overall a great product. Not super cheap though so depending on how many cats are in the household, could be expensive.

Smell gone
It appears using Lucy litter with Feline pine pellets has kept the urine smell away for weeks now. I will continue to use the combination to control the urine smell and keep the costs down a lot.

Best unscented cat litter ever
This is an amazing litter that I have been using for a few years. I'm so happy to see that I can again get it in the large plastic containers.
