Essential for any Islamic book library
This book is a must for anyone who is interested in Islam for several reasons. It introduces to the history and development of the science of theology or ilm-al-Kalam of different schools of thought and specially from the lens of the mainstream school ie Sunni, in the light of contemporary times which was almost obscured in the post world war world, torn between various social tensions. It contains the best historical progress of the most complex theological debates within the six articles of faith in Islam from history to contemporary times in the most lucid way. It also points out some valid obstacles for current islam stuck between the modern world of reason and post modern world of post- reason in the final parts, proposing a optimistic picture of the revival of Islamic sciences. Both academic and non academic, muslim/non muslims will find it useful.
