Birds, Nests & Eggs (Take Along Guides)

This book is FABULOUS! It is written on a younger elementary school level, but has enough information and meat to satisfy curious little minds. It also includes a few simple bird watching projects. Both my 5 year old and 3 year old have loved this book—especially the detail of comparing the egg size to coins and using the ruler on the back cover to see how long the different birds are. This is a book we will continue to get out each spring and summer as we observe nesting birds in the back yard. This obvious, but want to make sure buyers know there are no actual photos in this book, only colorful drawings. This has not been a problem for us.

As spring returns my toddler has been fascinated by the birds, so I looked for a couple books that would cover some common birds. This book is a little old for him yet but he will grow into it and it has enough info on common birds it gives me some things to discuss with him when we see birds. I definitely plan on getting some more books in this series as he gets older. I appreciate children's books that discuss the animals etc. the child is likely to see in real life this covers 15 birds that are common in North America.

One of our favorite books. Simple, easy to read but still full of facts. Great book for kiddos especially little bird lovers!

Fast shipping. Book is beautiful. The illustrations are realistic and very colorful. It inspires my five year old to learn how to 'color' like the illustrations. Each page/s is dedicated to a specific bird. The fonts are big enough for kindergartners to get motivated to read. The sentences are also displayed in different colors which helps the my young reader focus and appreciate reading through more sentences. Absolutely gorgeous, beautifully done book.

Good value for buying used.

This book is part of a nature series that is wonderful. They're colorful with beautiful artwork and informative with the information presented in a simple manner, making it enjoyable for kids. Even toddlers will enjoy looking through them. Wait until you see how excited the kids get when they can identify a bird or what it's doing.

I purchased this for my granddaughter for Christmas along with a pair of real kids binoculars....so she could learn about birds on day hikes, a walk in the park or in her back yard. She loved it. I thumbed through it...nicely illustrated and age appropriate....she is 7.

We have almost all of the books in this collection. We are doing homeschool with our little bit and these are great for nature based learning. And the little guides can be popped into a bag to go exploring with. Our local conservation district has clear backpacks you can check out that explore different things and they have books like this inside. But now we can do it from home.

Would recommend, love the illustrations and the information about each species.

My grandkids love to read about all kinds of wildlife. They can't wait til it's warmer so they can explore with their binoculars.
