My 47th book about Grief, NDE, Afterlife etc. - Nice guy - but a standard basic book. - Read points I Disagree about - Scott M.
Preface; I have lost Many people - and a while back I lost my significant other. My loss has devastated me. (Religion is Not for me!)I'm boarder-line tormented - that I Don't see how being available to a new lover wouldn't be cheating. This book 'Never Say Goodbye' - says on the back cover, "The end of physical life does not have to mean the end of our day-to-day relationship with the people we love." So - this became my 47th book I read about Grief, NDE, the Afterlife and Mediums.I will start by saying that author Patrick Mathews (I only know him by this book) seems like a good solid and since person, and I hate to write anything disparaging about someone who is good all they way threw.I find that at 47 books - it seems to be a challenge to Squeeze more insights from reading More books. This is a good book - for someone who Hasn't read others. - And it's mostly a repeat of parts of other books I Have read.I'll make some references below to particulars of this book:p.61-63 - (All) suicides were a mistake. - (this Isn't true!! - I've known of Tormented people - who really had No other choice!! Their lives were intolerable. - I'm sure they are the minority - but people Aren't machines and can only take so much. - So even if 2% - that's Not 'All' suicides.p.79 - Dogs go to Heaven. - Yes I believe that too.p.88 "Anything we feel 'wrong' on Earth - is Not God - but Our Fault'. - Oh Come on!! This author needs to get out more - and/or watch the news!! - Total B.S.!!p.106 People can be Bald in Heaven. - (Not happy to hear that!! - Why call it 'Heaven' then??)p.106-118 - (Okay - Here We Go!!) 'It's Okay to marry someone new' (BUT ZERO explanation as to "WHY" it's 'okay'!! : ((this WAS the REASON I read this book - and still - NO 'Math' as to 'Why'!! - Bummer!!)p.120 - 'Where were heavy with Grief - spirits Can't easily reach us' - Well Patrick - that's a Paradox!! - How the hell are we (or 'Me') supposed to 'Chipper up' - when Leveled by a loss?? - Impossible - for folks like me!! (and NO realistic insights on How to pull out of it) : (p.130 He Doesn't question miracles (well - he Should!)p.149-150 - a woman Unknowingly painted the farm that her mother grew up on.p.151 - Loved ones in spirit - can play songs for us on the radio. (I Agree!!)p.156 - "Hearing" the voice of a loved one in spirit - with our 'Inner' ear. (What about if we heard them with our reg ear??)It's just an Okay book. - After reading so many - I'm disappointed that so many rated this one high (currently 4.7 Stars)Sincerely, Scott M.

Loved this book!
I have always been curious about "the other side" and accidentally came across this book on Amazon while searching for something else. The title caught me eye and I began to read the synopsis and was hooked! I bought the book right away and it was worth it! I couldn't put it downand I loved the stories that came along in each chapter. I lost my grandmother 7 years ago this August. She was my confidant and my best friend. She had been there for me up until I turned 41 then she passed away and my heart was broken. I have often heard that people receive visits from their loved ones who are on the other side and it's been 7 years and I have yet to get one........still waiting!! But I do find "gifts" from her and I do have those times when I think I see something out of the corner of my eye but I'm just not really sure. Now I know it's her and I'm not just imagining it. I will re read this book again to practice the lessons in it so maybe one day my grandmother will let me know she is ok and with my other family members who have passed and also our pets. Thank you for a wonderful book and for helping me understand that I never really have to say goodbye.

My daughter chose this book
My daughter lost a son 3 years ago due to suicide. She just cannot seem to heal at all. Makes my heart hurt. So, I was going through books about this subject and decided to just ask her to pick out a couple, she would like to read. This is the book she chose. I have read it now; and she has not. So, I sent her a couple of excerpts from this book. The book is excellent and I will keep trying to have my daughter read it. She certainly could stand some help. Lovely book

Highly recommended by a grieving mom
I have lost my beautiful and brilliant son, my only child earlier this year. I believe my son has led me to finding this book. I lost him suddenly and unexpectedly to Meningitis y strain and the griief is compounded when my husband and I found out that this is preventable. He was only 19 and attending the University of Victoria in BC, Canada when he he suddenly got ill and was misdiagnosed as having the flu. Dotors said that no one can live beyound 24 hours but he hung on for 5 days for his parents out of love. We now know that there is a vaccine that has been available since 2006 and is available in most provinces except BC. This book validated everything that I have been feeling and that is we can still communicate with him and we are always family and together even though he has lost his physical body. I am so thankful that Patrick Matthews shares what he has written in this book and the following one.The book is easy to read and it is able to comfort those who have unbearable grief. I would love to meet and talk with him.

Incredible and Enlightening...
I've heard Patrick Matthews give readings on the radio quite a few times over the past few years and had thought of calling in and have him connect with a loved one...but didn't. Not sure why I didn't...but I guess I didn't feel comfortable enough or knowledgable enough on the subject at the time. However, I did know that there is life after death. My father and many other loved ones had shown me that over the years. For some reason I felt a sense of familiarism with Patrick and decided to buy his book "Never Say Goodbye".Patrick is a kind soul and explains his experiences with Spirit in this book like no other that I've ever heard before. He describes "heaven" (if you will) in a way that only Spirit would depict it. This book will answer many, if not all, of your questions regarding those who've crossed over. He even tells you how to keep communicating with your loved ones after they've crossed over.I highly recommend this book to anyone who is grieving or is just curious about what happens after we leave this earth.

Great book!
Oh I loved this book! One of the most interesting, original and comforting things I read about in this book, nonetheless, is that a medium or psychic does not necessarily have to be one of those rare child prodigies who have seen ghosts all their lives (a la Sixth Sense) since they were very small, and that therefore not all hope is lost for those ordinary people who were not blessed at birth with such a rare gift: the psychic senses or mediumnistic capacities can also be developed when one has already become an adult. Patrick Mathews is in addition an excellent and very entertaining writer.

Mediums are for real!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. My husband passed away recently so I just wanted to know how other people cope with this type of loss. He is an excellent medium and I would love to go and see him for a reading if he was in Ontario AND if I could afford it. His rates are pretty expensive!!
