Lift Belt Works Great For Elderly Dogs Too!
I received the BRMDT 35 Inch Gait Belt Lift Belt Transfer Sling Back Belts, Support Safety Lifting, Standing and Body Turning Assist in Home/Hospital Medical Care for Elderly, Disable and Injured.I ordered this to use with my somewhat disabled husband if he needed assistance.BUT, I have found that I am using this lift belt for my poor elderly dog instead.the dog is having a difficult time with his hips and hind legs when he goes up and down a few stairs. This also really helps me when getting my dog into our van. He just can't jump on in or out like he used to, so it is totally worth it for me to have a few of these Lift belts placed around the house and I keep one in our van for the ole pup too!I'm super happy with this Lift Belt!

VERY Handy To Have Around For Emergencies
I just got over having 2 family members who were incapacitated unexpectedly. Getting them up and down and in and out of bed was challenging to say the least. I saw this and knew it should be in my house.HOW THIS WORKSThis comes with no instructions, but I cross the handles in front of the person being lifted and then lift them up. You don't have to do that, but it seems to work better for us.DOES IT WORK WELL?My husband and I both used this on each other and it worked very well. This is not going to work for someone who has no ability to help getting up, however. The person being lifted has to have some capability to help themselves up once lifted. The pure dead weight would be too much to use with this otherwise.QUALITY?This seems to be very good quality. It should last quite a while for us. I am very glad to have it handy. After going through this with other family members, I learned it is best to have one of these around.THE BOTTOM LINEThis is excellent for helping someone partially incapacitated get out of a chair or bed as long as they can help themselves at some point.MY RATINGFIVE STARS, although I think that instructions should come with this for people who really have no idea. My husband used to work at a skilled nursing facility so he already knew how to use this.

Big help when I was unable to set up on my own
Easy to use. Came in handy when I had in the injury and lost strength in my abdomen. Very comfortable when used to help me set up to help build my strength back.

Assists in lifting most people; well-padded; good handles; helps w/disabled pets too
The back portion excluding the handles is 30" long. The handles are easy to grip and the material is padded.I tried this on my boyfriend and it was pretty easy to use and he is of medium build. This is perfect for most people but I doubt this would work for someone who is morbidly obese because it is not long enough. There are no instructions. It helps lift a patient so that they can help themselves further to stand up and make a transfer to a bed or just to walk. Some patients cannot lift themselves out of a sitting position and this assists the caregiver with that task. This can also be used for large pets. If a large dog has a problem walking and they need to be moved outside to go to the bathroom, then put this under them and create a sling by putting the handles together and lifting the pet like a shopping bag.

Lots of Handles
Sometimes my elderly mother has difficulty getting up from bed. Since I work at her house during the day and my sister is with her overnight, I thought it might be helpful to have this sling if we needed to sit her upright on those occasions when she isn't able to on her own. I tried it two different ways, (1) sitting her up in bed and, (2) helping her to stand. For both tasks it worked reasonably well and decreased the amount of effort I had to exert to lift her.It seems very well constructed. It's made of the type of synthetic fabric they use for tents, soft side luggage or backpacks. It's thickly padded for comfort and the handles are securely attached. The only confusing thing is that it has four handles and I can't figure out why.
