Pretty Good
I looked at a bunch of these & other digging tools for slicing into turf while metal detecting. This arrived in good condition in a nice box. Slightly on the heavy side (even for outdoor women like me) with solid thick gauge steel that is in fact through tang. Possibly the wood in the handle shrunk a bit with natural drying, making the tang just a bit sharp on the edges. Not sharp enough to cut you, but enough that I’d want to grind it down or wrap it were I to use it all day every day, like a landscaper or serious gardener. The rivets are not an issue & the wood is securely on the tang. But the wood on the handle is only thinly finished in a red-orange varnish, is only slightly rounded off and still kind of square. If you’re handy there is enough material for you to shape it a better with a grinder/sander & maybe put another coat of sealer on it, which I recommend. Really the workmanship on the handle is not great, but it’s good enough. Pluses for me were the riveted leather sheath with belt loop which is well made, the cool sharpening gadget that includes a tool for sharpening the serrations in the blade & the big, chef-like sharpening stone that I can use for this & other things. Haven’t used the tool or stone yet as the knife arrived super sharp. As for the sheath: the leather at the top of the sheath is getting shredded on the side where the serrations are on the knife - may or may not continue once the sheath is broken in? Unknown. I still am OK with the purchase as the knife appears indestructible & should be perfect once the handle gets a bit more attention. It’s so solid, I can’t image what it would take to damage it!

Sturdy and will last
One of my gardening friends had one of these at a gardening club project. She said she loved it, so I went looking for one. I especially like that it has the inches marked on it for when I might be planting seeds and want to cut a trough the right depth. But mostly I like how sturdy it is. I think it will last a long time. I also liked that this particular listing came with a sharpener too.

Wood handle could be more ergonomic
Wood handle could be more ergonomic. I think using this tool for any period of time is going to cause soreness in the hand from the hard edges. Looks to be sturdy tool but have not used it yet.

Replaced 4-5 different garden tools…
The media could not be loaded. This is now my favorite garden tool….I bought a house late last year and have been keeping it very busy with the endless gardening chores and wish I had bought it sooner! No learning curve, easy to use off the bat, and I love the depth measurements for my vegetable garden sowing and transplanting. I have had it for about 6 weeks now. It seriously replaces all but one of my garden tools-I use this 97% of the time. It even squeezes between pavers to get weeds in narrow spaces. I have one down side….even though I wear gardening gloves, the handle does make my palm sore after days of repetitive use, but I am not taking away a star bc that is with repetitive use with any garden tool. My husband wants one of his own! I like that it comes with a sharpening stone, but have not yet needed to use it. If you’re on the fence, I would definitely recommend!

Best garden tool
I had one,but lost it. It’s the best weeding tool ever. It’s also great for diGGing the hole for poTTing small plants. And the cutting edge is really good for cutting off small twig size branches and deadheading.

Love this Hori Hori knife.
One of the best purchases I've made on Amazon. Very sharp and so versatile as well as durable. I can see using this for years to come. Nice balance to it too. The sharpeners will come in handy. Love it!
