Useful book for Class A RVers
I spend at least 4 months on the road every summer in our RV. This is the best book available for directing you to a large number of RV parks. It is not complete but it generally gives you a good selection of Parks. We have a large class A so we can not get into a lot of parks. This book gives you a good indication as to what you will find when you get to a park. My big concern is how big and commercial Good Sam has become. It really bothers me that the CEO has stated how he dislikes Class A coaches. I want to reduce the amount of money I pay into Good Sam because it has a CEO that hates RVers, but he loves our money.

I gave it to my friend as a gift and he loved it!!
I bought this for my neighbor as a birthday gift since he recently purchased an RV. I was a little worried when I flipped through it because it looked like Yellow Pages instead of the traveling book I was expecting, but It was a big hit! He LOVED it! He explained that's how this books are so they can stay up to date with new locations and current prices, so it made sense. He even had some of the older additions on his shelf. He told me I saved him a trip to purchase it because he had planned on getting one soon. He even had a membership card!

Great on-the-go Camping Resource!
We moved across the country recently and had to plan our nightly stayovers in RV parks since we were towing our camping trailer from PA to CA. We used the Sams Club online trip planner but found ourselves at the mercy of seasonal parks along the way and had trouble securing reservations at the locations bookmarked via that trip planner. I purchased this before we left as a back-up resource and I am so glad that I did! My favorite part is the regional maps as well as the suggestions for Good Sam-rated RV Parks in each state that you can check out. We were able to have great spots to camp during our trip thanks to this guide, and I can keep it in our trailer for planning future trips this year.

Better Guides out there than this - not as good as in the past.
Good Sam seems to be losing place in the campground guide market. I purchased this, based on prior experience with Good Sam Travel Guides, and was disappointed in the lack of information available. There are many other travel guides out there better than this, and cheaper (look at AAA, for instance, especially if you are members). I am using the AAA guides and the Good Sam has become a doorstop. If you only have the Good Sam guide, you'd be OK, and my reason for 3 star and not lower.

Descriptions so far have been accurate and after getting a Good Sam RV membership
Already used it five times. Descriptions so far have been accurate and after getting a Good Sam RV membership, have already paid for the book with the savings. In addition, we also received a coupon for $25 to apply toward another RV Good Sam site which will basically cover the cost of the membership so it is a win-win across the board. I would say unless you have an IQ below 75, how can you go wrong?

It leaves with us this weekend to go on a short trip. Good info and necessary for us to plan where we will camp and find interesting areas to visit.Unfortunately our coupon for Camping World expired Feb 8th as we planned to stop and browse and use coupn. This is our novice trip. We had a repair on new unit needed so a delay to get off. Glad to have the travel guide.

Great guide
I didn't realize that this is the size of a big city phone book! Except for the size, it's great! I think I really would prefer a digital copy though. In a camper or RV space and weight are critical.

I have had several of these and one thing missing it the tabs that can be put on each state. I miss having these as it makes It easier to use. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars

The only and fully comprehensive way to go when you ...
The only and fully comprehensive way to go when you are traveling through the U S A in a motorhome! Also preplanning some RV parks before you go with the details you prefer. If you find the massive guide too heavy, cut out the pages from the states you are passing through and make your own small guide to look in when the day is done and you are ready to find a new campground/RV park. It worked very well for us in 2012 during a 6 week journey covering 19 states.

It's a good comprehensive guide but other than some coupon savings included if you have an idea of the areas you want to camp in then most of the info is available online for free.
