Q: Has anyone shot any critters with these? My property is overrun with squirrels and ravens. Will these balls kill small game?

I have not used these on any animals, living or dead. I do not believe they are dense enough to penetrate fur or feathers with slingshot velocities. I've shot them through a single thickness of aluminum beverage can. If they penetrate the single thickness of can, they can be used in that slingshot to "cut the can", making two targets from one. I have read reports of varmints and birds up to pigeon size being killed with them, usually with brain and/or eye strikes. Strikes on the cans may push the can up to about 10 inches on level ground. It is my opinion that sufficient velocity may be attained with a full butterfly pull and heavy bands. Certainly, Jörg Sprave on the Singshot Channel would be capable of this. If you wish to harvest squirrels and ravens, I'd recommend steel or lead balls. I buy PGN steel balls in three different sizes. Velocity of the clay and metal balls is the same, or close enough, but the more dense metals will penetrate at a given velocity before the clay.

Q: Can these be shot out of an hdr50

I measured 12 balls with a vernier caliper. They are not perfectly round. The minimum average diameter was 0.486", std. dev. 0.014; Maximum average diameter of 0.488, std. dev. 0.019; and avg diameter of 0.491, std. dev. of 0.028. Many will have a diameter for at least one direction that is greater than 0.5" but most will be less.

Q: Are these polished & clean? My last order was a dusty mess, got all over my hands/clothes. 3 prior orders were smooth, polished and clean.

It depends on how rough it's shipped. There's no telling if you will get a clean batch or dusty. Dump them all out on a large towel and fold the towel over them. Rub them around in the towel to clean off dust if it's a big deal to you and you get a dusty batch.
