Misadventures and adventures on the journey of life.
We all have our own mountains to climb. Some we may succeed in reaching the peak. But with every success there may be many failures, false starts and frustrations. Life is a challenge. It is how we accept, face, tackle and ultimately overcome and most importantly learn from them that defines our humanity and precious time on earth.Ellis Stewart has faced many mountains, metaphorical and physical. Including the highest of all, Everest. His life has been a colourful series of misadventures...and I would add, plenty of adventures too. An autobiography of someone who aspired to achieve, to do well for himself and his family, to be the best version of himself, though has made mistakes and encountered misfortune in pursuit of this. But Ellis Stewart emerges as a better man for all the downs as well as ups.Written with integrity, honesty, humour and warmth, Misadventure is a beautifully written book. It doesn't gloss over the harsh difficulties of life. The difficulties and challenges frame the possibilities, opportunities and successes. One cannot exist without the other.Ellis Stewart has written a book that we can all learn from. And then we can face our own mountains with renewed hope.A superb book, highly recommended.

Would recommend for book groups. A great read.
We all have a story to tell and Ellis tells his with great aplombI can totally relate to this book – life isn’t always great, and the bad bits shape us just as much as the good bits. It shows that everyone has a story in them if it is told well. Ellis relates his experiences in an engaging, entertaining way and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I hope Ellis continues to be a successful author as he certainly has a knack for.

Well worth the read!
Wasn’t sure how this book would read considering e erythema seamed to be covered in the first ‘Everest’ book but it’s excellent!. A relatable story in a lot of places, good humor and easy to follow. Throughly enjoyed it.

A Journey of Life's Highways, Peaks and Troughs
Misadventure, the author’s second book, is a journey of life’s highways, peaks and troughs and the lessons learned rather than a trip to the peak of Mount Everest, covered in his last book Everest: It’s not about the summit. Although he may not be a household name, Ellis is a guy that conquers what he thought was impossible: himself. From his schooldays to adulthood, the many hardships he faced, and the loss of his close friend to cancer.I enjoyed this book immensely, and I have great admiration for the author.I award the book 4 stars.“I believe becoming resilient to the effects of failure is the biggest superpower a person can possess” ---E. J. Stewart.Thank you, Ellis. J. Stewart, for sharing your work with The Book Dragon.Andrew Bell, Official reviewer of Audio fiction for The Book Dragon.

Truly inspirational read, high and lows of the author life,
Follow on book, "Everest It's not about the summit".Part 2 of Ellis journey "Misadventure"I found the book to be warts and all, highs lows of Ellis life. Truly have I read a book that I belly laughed, but then felt the low emotions of the authors writing.I felt this book was great part two of the authors journey, what happened after Everest?Thank you to author for such inspiring but candid, journey through his life.

Ellis’s vulnerability is inspirational
Probably in a select group, in that I read Misadventure before Ellis’s first book about his challenges with Everest .He’s a very readable writer who can mix humour, self deprecation with solid, understandable, practical advice. In many ways this is the most un-self help book out there, as Ellis does not advocate his journey as the model lifestyle. What he does provide is a level of honesty and objectivity which will lead to personal insights, that will make a difference to the way we view adversity and problems. His candour and self reflection can be brutal and uncomfortable but it comes from the heart. The level of vulnerability is inspirational and reassuring to all of us in life that can find it hard at times. The fact he’s got so many followers on social media and supporters of his Everest attempts is a testament to his endearing frankness and complete lack of ego.A fantastic read as was the initial Everest attempts, which I possibly enjoyed more because I read this first 👍
