Genuine Stainless Tongs 42" Log Grabber TM

I do ALOT of car/trailer camping which always involves an evening fire pit. I have tried a lot of different fire place/pit products currently on the market and they are honestly cheaply made and cannot stand up to long term wear and tear... replacing them regularly. However, THESE LOG GRABBERS ARE THE REAL DEAL. The 1/2 inch gauge stainless steel feels solid in your hands, the bolt connecter at the working end is solid making them beefy strong enough to move pretty sizable logs.... I have lifted up to 10lb logs with them with no problem. Likewise, you can easily manipulate the smallest pieces of kindling as well. I thought the length would be an issue, but it is not. An overall GREAT PRODUCT, worth every penny of the price. Several of my camping buddies are ordering their own SET (ie....get the Fire Poker as well) after using mine. and its... stainless steel.... leave it outside and no worries about rust.... (check out my review on the companion log poker.) Buy both, you will not be disappointed.

Appears as described. Stainless, long, heavy duty. Does the job. However, I am 5'10 and 200 lbs. and I still do not have the easiest time manipulating this instrument. I cut and drilled 2 pieces of round wood that I had laying around and made makeshift handles for these tongs. The geometry of these tongs make it fundamentally clumsy to work with, being long and heavy. Nonetheless, I did buy it for the precise purpose of being able to grab logs and place them in my fire without exposing myself to the heat. Also, I like to buy things that will last, and it does appear to be well made and durable.

These things are built like a tank and make it super easy to rearrange fires big and small, as well as add large logs to the fire. They were great and exactly what I was looking for. Couple of cautions however:1) They are really large and the angle on them means you need a fairly large wing span to pickup larger logs.2) They are rather heavy (again, built like a tank)3) They do get hot, and so you need to be conscious of where you lay them down and others bumping into them. This is true for all tongs really, but their large size makes it a little more of a hassle.

These have to be the best possibly made tongs. They are seriously heavy duty. The length is awesome. 4 stars because they just flat do not open very wide. 6-7 inches. Why have such heavy duty tongs if you cant move around large heavy duty logs. Honestly I just do not see the point of these. If you are only moving small logs, buy some little cheapy tongs.

The log grabber tongs look great and is made of stainless steel so no rusting. No handles on the end so I purchased one inch square stainless steel tubing and had a friend of mine weld it to the end of the log grabber tongs; Results: this tool works great with no slippage and good grip/control when in use. This is the one and only tool used at the fire pit even though we do have an awesome 52" stainless steel poker.

Have not gotten to use them yet, since we are now down into the teens where I live, so a little cold for camp fires right now. However, they appear t to be very well built and would appear that they will last a lifetime. I am happy with the purchase and definitely feel they will last much, much longer than the cheaper built stuff out there. Also like the idea of them being 42" long, since my fires tend to get very hot and those 26" long grabbers just don't keep you far enough away from the heat of the fire.

These things are awesome. They are quite a bit of overkill to be honest. Michigan weather and left outside year round with ZERO rust or corrosion. They are a bit heavy but they are almost four feet long. Springy handles so you can really clap down on a big log and built with quality steel that will never bend. Dont even think about breaking them, because it will never happen. Very stout. American made. I like them and would buy again. Quality product that will likely outlast you.

Ok. 1) this is a beautiful instrument. 2) it’s clearly well-built and will last decades. So, why the four star review? Because it’s huge! Like able to reach into the reactor core and move uranium tubes around huge. It’s way more tong than I need for my 36 inch fire pit. If you’re honestly dealing with massive bonfires, this may be the tongs for you.
