Ernst Manufacturing 964 Jack Stand Covers, Set of 4, Yellow

I bought and compared two similar products.I measured their unstretched inner diameters:Ernst B005Z2XA8M (yellow) 4¼” x 1¼”Prothane B000NSMXS6 (red) 3 15/16” x 1 ⅛”I’m using them for two different brands of 2-ton jack stands.The lengths across the tops of my stands is about 3 ¼”The Prothane cover has a hard plastic curvature that fits against the top of the stand. It doesn’t work with either of my stands. I see many positive reviews for the Prothane. I can only assume that the curvature happens to match well with those particular stands.The Ernst has a clever design. It uses a soft rubber flap that adapts to the shape of any stand top. Even though the inner diameter of the Ernst is larger, it fits my small jack stands nicely.

These are just a little big for my Jack stands but they work perfectly well. They are just big enough to distribute the weight out and haven’t left any makes on the underside of my cars.

These are not cheap, these are well made and fit on my stands but have seen stands that they would not fit on (you may ba able to heat them with a heat gun and stretch them onto the stand?).

They're a bit longer than my jackstand support length but it does fit into the smaller size. There's a thin size and wide size. My jackstands have a shorter span but still they fit just fine.

This unit was sloppy upon installation. Unstable so the jack stand could not be trued in its top location.

These are awesome. Perfect size, tough material and great texture to safely protect the underbody of cars from the metal heads of jack stands. They are also engineered in such a way as to be a perfect universal fit for most jack stands. These are a must-have item in the garage, and I am shocked I did not purchase these earlier.NOTE: I use these in full frame applications where they fit between the jack stand and the frame beam. I do not use them under pinch welds on body panels. (That would be a bad idea, anyway. Something like that needs a special jack pad or frame rail saddle. Pinch welds are not made for jack stands. Look at the lift point guidance in the FSM or owners manual.)

Used once and 2 of the 4 were damaged. One ripped at the seam completely. Not good.

I'm impressed with this. I'm upset that I never ordered this sooner. It does the job protecting the paint and metal. If I didn't use this, my supporting points under my car would've been scratched badly and probably started rusting instantly.If you use jackstands (which you should), you definitely need this.
