Unique well designed and made knife
Took it out of the box went and chopped about with it. A week went by then I went a made a little wood carving over two days. It’s such a versatile design and bigger in person. The “hook” on the butt of the handle is awesome for chopping. The blade comes nice and close to the handle so it’s very controllable. I cut up some salmon for dinner (store bought, I’m no survivalist) but it was fine even after all the wood work. The wide blade was actually quite useful to leverage with my off hand. Sheath is leather and cordura or something but it’s great and useable. There’s an awesome video on youtube of a dude using this for all kinds of stuff. Check it out if you’re wondering. This is a great knife for the price and super unique and well thought out.Update:Chopped small tree with it, handles do rub and “hook” on handle bites when chopping with 2 or three finger grip. Still love it though. BUT KA-BAR PLEASE UPDATE IN D2 and with MICARTA HANDLE OPTIONS.

it certainly should serve as a fine survival knife
I couldn't resist this Ka-Bar item, especially considering that it didn't cost all that much. Sure, it's kinda ugly, but in an appealing way, at least to me. I also own a mighty BK2, so this is more of an auxiliary piece for me. I don't think I would voluntarily subject it to the sort of really heavy work that the BK2 is capable of, but, still, this is a heavy-duty tool, and considering that it is less expensive than the BK2, it certainly should serve as a fine survival knife. It is full tang and 1/4 inch thick at the back of the blade and thru the handle. The handle itself is comfortable and the hook at the end keeps one's grip secure. Now, the sheath----the sheath is kind of freakish. Of course, a large knife requires a large sheath and this one does the job alright. It's just that it has, like, moving parts--things that swivel and swing! Takes some getting used to. There are two snap closures, one on the body of the sheath which works well, and on on the belt loop that doesn't work well at all, at least on mine. The strap is about a 1/2 inch too short and is quite difficult to fasten--can't snap it shut with one hand. If I were to use this frequently, I would cut the strap, make it longer with leather and rivets, thus making it more user-friendly. The leather parts of the sheath are of rather mediocre quality, but, again, considering the cost, it will suffice. If a big chopping knife is something you need, this thing would likely serve you well. And it is a Ka-Bar! Enough said!

Looks to be a good chopper but honestly expected more from my first ka-bar....
I'm not a pro but am a knife enthusiast, i liked this knife to use as a chopper and digger around camp and the house, i liked the really thick blade and the reviews that mentioned "heft" , once the package came i was really excited to see what was inside and hold this guy in my hands, my initial impressions are the handle is a bit large for my hands but still provides a good grip, fyi , i have small hands so most men won't have this issue, i like the tail and the end of the grip to help when your hands start to get tired.... the finish of the knife is nice enough but didn't leave me awe , i've honestly had same finish quality in knives half the price, though not as sharp from the box, which doesn't really bother me as i sharpen them myself anyways... in further reviews i found this knife isn't actually what i would call a full tang, as it narrows quit a bit as it comes into the handle, while i don't see this being much of an issue it does lend doubt to ruggedness over the duration, and really this is the part that has me down, as i don't want to disassemble the handle just to find out how thin the tang actually is...with that said this should still be a great piece and last a long time, balance is good and find it just about where it should be maybe a little short if anything,it pulls from the sheath nicely though i do have some issues with the sheath as well and am currently looking for a leather replacement if this knife earns a spot in my trial pack, also can they please just take the made in Taiwan print off, i know it's made there but it's not something i exactly want to show my buddies when bragging about my new warthog, all things considered I've just had pretty good luck with ordering cheaper knives made from good materials and construction and re-profiling them and sharpening them my self, i'm wondering now if i should have gone a step up to a rtakii or bk10, don't get me wrong, this is a decent knife but honestly feel something better can be had for the price, it's a shame to as i really liked the blade shape...

Having chopped through as much hardwood with my taiwan ka-bar kukri as a lumberjacks stihl I decided to give this knife a go. Literally gone through countless mature oak logs with the kukri, best chopping tool I have owned.Haven't used the warthog yet but I can tell ya right now the quality is on point similar to the kukri. Nice heavy weight and more packable. I can see this thing being a go to on many camping trips to come :).
