Super Iron OutRust Stain Remover-18 oz

First, this stuff is a powder - I thought it was a liquid. However that works out better. I had a rust ring from a metal shaving can being left in my (fiberglass) shower for a month. I've tried removing it and scrubbing it for a year with no impact (including trying Easy off oven cleaner which I thought removes everything). I bought this stuff, poured some hot water on the spot first then sprinkled some of this on (sizzled as it hit the wet shower - definitely acidic) and left it a few minutes - then scrubbed with a nylon brush - it lessened it a lot immediately. Overall it did take 4 or so applications (each time leaving it on for around 5min), but it really did totally remove the rust stain.

I bought this after my wife discovered rings on our granite counter tops that were created by leaving our iron skillets on them. Let me just say that she was pretty hot about it. I then went searching about how to remove the rings and found out about iron out. I found several sites that said to leave it on the counter covered with plactic wrap for a day to a week. Well I put some on the rings, spread it around with brush and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Anxious to see if it was working, I went ahead and rinsed it off and dried the location. To my wife and I surprise every single ring was gone!

Purchased this for white laundry. When I received it, the bottle was 3/4 full and wasn't safety sealed. I ordered a new bottle, but without being properly packaged, how would you know if it was new? Bottle says 1 lb 2 oz bottle. The directions say to use 1/2 cup to white laundry, so I guess I can do 4 loads for $22. Hope it works and my whites are super white!

Yes the fumes are very bad! I did not realize this was a powder. I did not feel is worked as well as the pre mixed solution.

To clean my water softener

I have tried all the various products on the market but this is the only one that actually almost instantly removes rust. I use it often in my washer as a booster/whitener when doing white clothes because some rust seems to come into the water regardless (I have a filtering system); I have well water and I hate it. You have to be careful with the product and do not inhale it. Smells awful. Does not remove "circle rust stains" that develop in your toilet after a while, though. Really works best on materials like clothes, shower curtain, etc.

Cheapest I've seen so far. Works great.

Following the directions from our water softener installer I've used this twice now, every 4 months, to keep the softner running smoothly and build-up/gunk free. Water softener purrs like a kitten when it cycles. Mission accomplished.
