Imperfect, but gets the job done
Generally gets the job done, but here are some issues. The pivots on the XM-18s have proprietary hardware, thus your options are mainly - building your own tool (folks have notched pennies to get the job done), buy a very expensive tool from Hinderer, or buy a cheaper tool like this.Again, this tool works and I've used it successfully. But disassembly required two people. Main problems were:1) Machining on the flat side left a small divot (i.e., not perfectly smooth). Make it hard to stay aligned with the pivot.2) Small size makes it difficult to grip and get leverage. The problem becomes more severe is locktite has been applied to the pivot.

Not perfect, but very good
The OEM version is incredibly overpriced. This works, but isn’t quite as snug or easy to manipulate.

It would have been super easy to include a small torque bar so these actually work…
