KleenWater KWAP5500RM Compatible with Aqua-Pure AP5500RM Reverse Osmosis Membrane Module with Housing and Accessory Fitting

Update: 06/20/23 I received a call back from customer service. Issue resolved and I'm happy, added bonus, US based. I would do business with this company again.Very happy the aftermarket made this available. But it fell short. The picture shows the original red discharge tube on the left. Notice the ID of the tube, very small. The narrowness is to slowdown the water discharge. The one on right represents the discharge tube ID from the new membrane, full port, no restriction. Installed as per the instructions, the discharged sounded very loud moving a lot of discharged water. I couldn’t switch over the old to the new. The workaround for me was to splice a shorter piece of the restrictive tube onto the new one. If you’re going to sell a unit representing, “as a replacement unit for,” this restrictive tubing should’ve been used! I’m within my thirty days… .

My existing membrane (Aquar-Pure brand) was netting me about 54 TDS with my input water being 425 TDS, so since that's over the 10% threshold wanted to replace it. Bought this KleenWater unit, connected it up and flushed the system for 2 hours as instructed, then took a TDS reading. The result was 98 TDS, which is worse than my 1.5 year old Aqua-Pure membrane!Re-installed the old Aqua-Pure and will be returning this KleenWater.

The housing is excellent and I was happy it comes in white because it matches my system. The housing connected where the original filter went and cradled snugly. I did not need to make any modifications to the system.The filter is a different story. The filter ran through lots of water to produce filtered water. The cycle time was hours, causing lots of water to go down the drain as it filtered.The system comes with the same Installation instructions as shown in the advertisement. Once working on the system, placement made sense. I advise taking pictures of the old system before you start.Overall, I like the container and have used it for about 18 months but the filter lasted about 6 months.

I had to replace many items on our RO unit, and the costs really started to add up. I decided to try this RO membrane unit, and after we had used it for a while, the water tasted better and better, until it tasted like when the unit was new. This membrane unit cost about 1/4 of what the original manufacturers replacement cost.

The unit came with NO paperwork or phone numbers fro assistance.The brand name this unit is to replace is color coded to hook up you have to guess with this product and so far is not working as expected.
