Worth the read!
I enjoyed this book. It had a good flow and pace to the story. And while I was easily able to guess the ending early on, I still stayed to find out the details. It had some great smexy times in it also!

A little predictable, but so good.
I loved the mix of murder serial killer mystery and romance. It was awesome to see two twin flames find each other again. The obvious clues throughout the book pointed at one clear and obvious killer, which kind of made the main characters a bit annoying, but it was great to see them solve the mystery at the end.

4.5 ⭐️ Solid read but you could probably guess most of the plot twists
Sloane has always wanted to be a homicide detective, she has the career but can she solve the murders on Skelm Island before more bodies keep popping up? Lincoln has a hard time letting go of his past, holding on to his blue eyed best friend that mysteriously disappeared. Will the presence of a new detective on the island open up old wounds or help him heal them?To me this was a good read, I was intrigued but by the end it hadn’t stood out to me as being overwhelmingly great. I try to save my 5 ⭐️ for books that make me feel passionately one way or another about the characters. Also the plot twists were fairly obvious, the authors drop plenty of hints about certain characters to know that their a bit off and obviously have something to do with the murders. The biggest plot twist is probably why they started the murders rather than who was involved. There’s another side plot that is going on surrounding the missing best friend that also was pretty obvious but I will say they don’t keep that one a secret for very long and I think Lincoln figured it out maybe like halfway through the book, so I’m not really sure that was meant to be a big deal anyways.I liked it more for the suspense of the characters finding out and how they’d react. I didn’t know who did it immediately but there’s only I think three people where the main characters mention something being off about them enough to realize it has to be one of the three. My bet is always on the person you would least suspect which just left the why. That part was really interesting and pretty sad, it does wrap everything up nicely though so there’s no questions by the end.The only part that wasn’t really wrapped up for me was something that happens at the very beginning of the book. It seems like it’s going to be important and come back later on but it only gets mentioned once in the characters mind and never again. It’s odd that it was mentioned at the start then never looked into or of value further along.

Recommend it for the romance but not the mystery!!
As much as I love Emily McIntire’s books, I was not completely and alarmingly hooked as I usually am while reading Be Still My Heart, xo-authored by Sav R. Miller. Although enjoyable, I think my suspension of disbelieve was severely lacking throughout the book.Told in a dual perspective, Be Still My Heart takes place in a quiet small town called Skelm Island off the coast of Maine. It follows Detective Sloane as she is called in to investigate several murders that have serial killer tendencies. Skelm Island native and retired Navy Seal, Lincoln Porter, takes up his father’s lobster business, stuck living a mundane life doing the same routine day in and day out, haunted by the mysterious disappearance of his best friend. He leads a relatively normal mundane life until a dead body washes up to the surface stuck in one of his lobster traps.I thoroughly enjoyed the premise and storyline however, Be Still My Heart was a little “too-busy” for me. There was so much to unpack and so many moving parts that I felt certain scenes didn’t get enough exposure or time to really make me believe the plausibility of these characters. Lots of scenes were sort of glossed over and left me with a sense that there was unfinished business and it happed too many times for me to overlook. Detective Sloane became passive in certain interrogation scenes and that to me felt painfully obvious that perhaps the writers didn’t want to delve too deeply into a particular scene. It was a bit distracting for me when sex scenes were interlaced with the characters trying to catch a serial killer.Don’t get me wrong, the sex scenes were spicy and extremely well-done but they dulled the importance of the investigation and the big reveal at the end. This was definitely a 3-star for me and I definitely recommend it for the romance but not necessarily for the mystery and true crime genre lovers out there.

Lincoln and Morgan
This was my first book by each author, so I was not sure what to expect. The story is about a coastal town that is having several unexplained deaths, and they are pointing to Lincoln as the suspect. Enter Detective Morgan Sloane, who is from the state, or government, and she turns out to be as interested in Lincoln as he is in her. He thinks she’s his childhood friend who had a mysterious disappearance and declared death. As she works the case with her partner Alex, with no help from the local PD, more bodies show up. The heat in this book, I’ll give it a 2.5. The story itself was good, honestly, it was hard to finish, but I did want to see what happened. I like the narrators, and I’m not sure if they have a choice in the matter, but I really don’t like when they have to voice the narration for the other people talking. Example - Lincoln is talking to his mother, so the male narrator speaks both parts.. not my favorite at all.

Not enough stars
Love a murder mystery? Love steam? Love a small town romance? Love grumpy / sunshine? Look no further than this book ...Two fantastic authors collide in the very best ways! Filled with suspense, steam, mystery, romance and all the feels ... I laughed, was frustrated, not going to lie even shed a small tear all while loving this book.I loved the character development of both Sloane & Lincoln (if you love hot & broody af he is your man).Would love to read more by these two authors together and as separate authors.

Absolutely loved the book
I loved this book. It made me happy, sad, anxious and like I was actually there with the characters. Also the twist at the end is giant and I wasn’t expecting it at all. Overall I really enjoyed reading this book and I recommend that you read it too.
