Very good light
Great light for power outages

Bought 2020, Review in 2023. Works great. Original Battery still holding a charge. Bright !!!
Bright enough to light up a room on the low setting. 200 lumens is like a 25-30 watt incandescent bulb. These seem much brighter. I have 2 of these. They come on when power fails. Original Battery still holding a charge. When the battery fails you can replace with the same standard 6V 4AH battery used by emergency lights in commercial buildings -- widely available and cheap.

Good bright residential emergency light for power outage
My area suffers 2-3 power outages each year lasting up to 5 hours primarily due to falling trees caused by storms besides a few momentary ones. Most of these incidents occur in the winter rain season during, as Murphy's law suggests, night time.I firstly checked commercial emergency lights, but they are designed to last only up to 90 minutes, long enough for the facility workers and visitors to evacuate, but too short for the residents to stay inside safely. I also checked residential night/emergency lights, but they are basically designed as all-night lights with a ambient light sensor that can also be used as tiny flash lights once power is removed. This "Ideal" product smeet my above requirements as a home emergency light. It emits very bright LED lighting for up to 8 hours as the manufacturer claims. It lights bright enough for preparing emergency food in our kitchen. There are two control switches:- Lighting: FULL/HALF/OFF- Night light: ON/AUTO/OFFThe lighting level switch changes the number of LEDs, 3 or 6.The main light turns on as soon as the power supply is removed. The blue LED indicator tells the unit is on power. The night light is nothing but one of the LEDs lighting dim.The housing is very compact, simple, and handsome with no weired/odd decoration. Its color should blend with most whitish walls. The included power supply is a small 12VDC wall wart with a very popular plug size and polarity so that it can be easily substituted with a non-genuine one.One feature I miss is automatic turn on/off for the main LED. I wish a switch to make it automatically turn off when the ambient is bright enough. Of course the manual switch can perform this.Since I just installed it last weekend, I don't know how long the battery will last in an emergency situation, neither do I know the battery's life time. Oh, the replacement battery type information should have been printed on the product for easy replacement. It currently only says "6V lead acid."This product seems to light significantly brighter than SK636, a sister product with much longer operation time, and for its more handsome shape and lower price, there might be no reason to go to the big sister if you are happy with the 4-8 hour operation time.

it's bright - lights up big area when power goes out.
I've had this light for years on my plant shelf in my foyer, use it as a night light. It's awesome when the power goes out, it lights up my entire front hallway/foyer and upstairs. I'm looking to get more of these for other locations. reasonably priced and so far for me works like a dream.

Still going strong 6 years later
I bought this light for emergency lighting during power outage events. Since Jan 2018 it sits on my counter and still working great. I never changed the battery or anything. I'm going to buy a few more and place them around the house so we have emergency lights during power outage events.

well-designed product with long battery life, also useful for portable lighting
I was gifted a pair of these by a friend. The power doesn't go out often where I live, but it finally did for the first time after I set them up and it's amazing how much light they give off, even in the half power mode (there are 6 LEDs and the device can be set up to use either 3 or 6, so as to improve battery life). I liked them so much that after the recent power outage, I bought another two. These give a lot of peace of mind; I'd hate to be in the shower at night or stuck upstairs and have to deal with pitch darkness. These are also bright enough that I can set them up so I can actually do things during a power outage at night, like read, or even just use my notebook or tablet for a while, since I really don't like using those devices in pitch black. The other benefit is that these have a lot of utility for portable lighting situations. For example, my kitchen sink faucet got a bit loose and required some tightening underneath with a basin wrench. It was so nice to just pop one of these into the sink cabinet and have the whole workarea be completely lit up.

OK for $46 but not at this current price
I bought this earlier year for about $46. Looks cheap and not that bright but OK for the price back then. I have been tracking the price over time and at $126, this is a ripoff.

Really works
Easy set up. Very very bright. The living room is completely lit with all lights on. Three lights light the living room to a beyond acceptable level. Do not worry about the light level. It works great. The night light alone would be enough to live with in a extended emergency. Very heavy and solidly made. Am giving more as Christmas presents this year. A must have particularly for elderly living alone. The lights go out this goes on. No more looking for the flashlight with 5 year old corroded batteries.
