Very helpful for maintaining eyesight.
This is an amazing product. I am 71 and have Sjogren's Syndrome which affects the eyes and other organs of the body. However, the dryness of the eyes and problems focusing were severely limiting my activities. I still work, at a desk, with a computer, translating documents for a living. I was having a very hard time focusing on the text, which obviously was not a good situation. I love to read and also like to play video games, so it was distressing to me to have a young functioning mind and old eyes!! I read that Lutein was present in higher concentrations when young, so decided to give this a try. It has worked wonderfully well! In addition to improving my vision when reading, it has greatly improved my night vision. I recommend it to everyone. Best to avoid a problem than to suffer a permanent loss in your eyesight.

This Can Replace The Discontinued Vitafusion Daily Vision Vitamins . . . .
For those who have been taking Vitafusion DailyVision Gummy Vitamin, 50 Count, which have been discontinued by its manufacturer, try these vitamins instead. They also have FloraGLO lutein, which is what I believe made the Vitafusion vitamins work so well. The Vitafusion ones stopped the painful eye problems I woke up to many mornings, which I believe were caused by Corneal Erosion/Abrasion. Hence, it was most stressful to see that soon I could no longer buy them. I've already switched over to the Doctor's Best, and they have twice as much lutein (20 mg) as the Vitafusion, and last over twice as long. You only have to take one a day, and the softgels are very small and easy to swallow. So far, they seem to be having the same good effect on my eyes that the Vitafusion vitamins had.Update 11/14: If you want a gummie eye vitamin instead, try Sundown Lutein Gummies, 12 mg, 60 Count. It has FloraGlo Lutein, but less than what the Doctor's Best has and contains no zeaxanthin. You also have to take two a day, so the bottle only lasts one month.Update 4/21/16: The Sundown gummies have been discontinued. If you want a FloraGlo gummie exactly like the Sundown one, try Puritan's Pride Lutein 12mg (per serving) Gummies-60 Gummies.Update 8/22/17: Here's another good Doctor's Best FloraGlo Lutein vitamin to try--Doctor's Best Natural Vision Enhancers wtih FloraGLO Lutein, Non-GMO, Gluten Free, 60 Softgels. It has 4 mg of zeaxanthin in it, instead of the 1 mg in this one. It also has fish oils. Yet you have to take two of those to get that much zeaxanthin and the 20 mg of lutein; so that makes them more expensive, since you only have to take one of the vitamins of this page. But doctors recommend 10 mg of lutein a day, not 20, and 2 mg of zeaxanthin, not 1 or 4, so you could only take one of the Vision Enhancers and be okay.

Flora GLO is the way to go!!!
I have used Flora Glo lutein for many years in a drink. I wanted to stop using artificial sweeteners, so I found this product. I like that the pills are smaller in size, and I can get them down. I feel this source Flora Glo helps best with keeping macular degeneration from advancing but everyone's eye health is different. So, you have to try for yourself. I'm also happy with the price very affordable Doctor's Best supplement. Happy with my purchase.UPDATE: Please note this new packaging doesn't contain Flora Glo Lutein any longer. Email confirmation from Doctor's Best customer service on 10/1/24 confirmed this for me no longer using that form of Lutein. I will no longer use this item going forward for myself they lost a customer.

A basic supplement for maintaining vision quality as one ages
I have taken Lutein for a long time now. An eye doctor recommended a high quality, name brand multivitamin that included Lutein a long time ago. Shocked by the price of the combination vitamin I ordered the Lutein separately at considerable savings. Since I take a regimen or supplements anyway, only the Lutein was necessary. At 80 my eyesight continues at 20/20 at last checkup.

Truly Lives Up to Its Name
I had previously bought my Lutein products in drugstores. When products displaying the FloraGlo lutein label started disappearing from the drugstores I turned to Amazon to get a product compounded from FloraGlo lutein. Why is getting lutein made from FloraGlo important? Because my optometrist recommends it! He says getting FloraGlo lutein ensures a high quality level of compounding. He said he had been disappointed with the compounding of medications produced overseas in terms of quality and efficacy. After the dog and cat food scandal, I rather pay more for products made in the US rather than outsourced to China.
