I knew I wanted a nice sharpener b/c the one I have is apparently (!) for my knives, so I decided to get one that would last (vs plastic and metal). This stone is really very attractive and after understanding how to use it, I have had great results turning trash-bound knives into like-new, again.

Bought as a gift

This is a serious knife sharpener, but after watching a youtube video, even a non-professional can turn their dull knives into chef-worthy tools! It's not bad looking, either : )

Works grate easy to use, knives have a nice honed edge.

Product had arrived damaged

I'd never had a whet stone like this. It's very easy to use and works great. My base arrived damaged but the seller shipped me another right away. I also like the blade attachment. It helps ensure a more precise angle.

Very nice product! The 1000 grit side is great for making dull knives sharp again and the 6000 grit side finishes the edge nicely. The little guide works perfectly to keep you from varying the angle of the knife to the stone which can neutralize all the effort you put into sharpening the blade.

I am a Chef and can tell you that this the best choice at a very reasonable price. Exactly what I was looking for to maintain my various knives. It is worth the investment! Threw away your old kitchen sharpener gadget as it will mainly damaging your blades.
