Big Bossy Mistake: An Accidental Baby Romance (Manhattan Billionaires Book 1)

Great Story
Big Bossy MistakeEmil and DaniSingle dad/Boss and Nanny/Secret babyThis was a new to me author. I really liked the book. The characters are well developed and, in a lot of ways real. Real problems, real consequences, real solutions.Dani has spent the last four years running from her ex and the mistakes she made while with him. She has few true friends. She’s learned to keep people at a distance. When they get too close, start asking too many questions, she runs. She has landed with the one friend she trusts. She’s starting a new job in the morning and celebrating her birthday with a glass of wine, when there’s a knock on the door. In storms a whirlwind of fashion, hair dressers, makeup artists and a drill sergeant keeping everyone on task. Dani is sure they are in the wrong place, but they have the right name and address. So she assumes it’s her birthday gift from her friend. She’s stuffed into a limo and off to the biggest formal event of the season.Emil is a single dad of an eight year old daughter and a toddler son. His wife was killed three years earlier when she was hit by a drunk driver. He’s putting himself in an uncomfortable position by socializing with his peers. He has finally got a meeting with the one man who could help him accomplish a huge goal. Finally take the company his father left him in a new direction. His direction. But the woman who shows up as his “date”, is not the woman he was expecting. He’s really not happy, but at the same time, he’s really, secretly lusting for this unexpected stranger. These two have immediate and earth shattering chemistry. A few drinks and some hanky panky in a dark room before a ghost sends Dani running from the ball just like Cinderella. Then it turns out Emil is her new boss.Try as they might to keep things professional, lines are crossed, feelings get involved, and ghosts turn out to be real. When her old life catches up to her new life, she tries to do the right thing, only to have it blow up in her face.So she does the one thing she knows. She runs.I loved these characters. Emil was, at the heart of it a decent dad. He loved his children, always looking for the best for them. But it’s not until Dani’s influence, does he become a great dad.Dani is a strong, intelligent woman. When push comes to shove, she has a backbone of steel. She takes a stand and does the right thing regardless of the consequences.Emil’s kids were smart a very precocious.I loved how Emil’s wife was not the horror she was thought to be. Reading her words really opened his eyes.I loved that Dani stood her ground where Emil was concerned. He screws up. Royally. And she really makes him work to get her back.A great story. Told in dual points of view. No cheating. No cliffhanger.A great epilogue with their happy ending.I’ll be reading the next book.

The Manhattan Billionaires are...
...one of my favorite HEA series! And Lilian Monroe is one of my favorite authors. She adds the right amount of romance and humor, with some intrigue or drama. You won't want to put the story down, and if you have to, you can't wait to pick it up again. (At least I couldn't.).Emil and Dani have instant chemistry. And it turns out that their accidental encounter won't be their last.Hope you enjoy reading about Emil, Leif and Marcus, and their families (the children are precious), as much as I did the first time, and this time.FYI: Due to timelines in the stories, the books are best read in order. And it looks like there's going to be a 4th book in this series. Can't wait!

Enjoyable Read
Although there were some aspects of the story that were predictable, I still really enjoyed it and look forward to reading the other books in the Manhattan Billionaire series.

Emil & Dani
There was so much meat to this story! Both Emil and Dani have a history that effects their relationship and their current life. I felt like I had emotional ties to Emil and Dani and their relationship. I could feel their pain - and their joy at the end when they got their happily ever after. I loved it!

Cute but would have liked more on her secret
I liked it, I love an oops pregnancy but she could have pulled that card earlier as part of the twist. I felt like her secret was understated but over all a good palette cleanser.

Emil & Dani
Dani has been running for 4 years, now she is in a friends apartment house sitting in Manhattan. Her life is about to change when there is a knock at the door and a group of women come in and style her for the Summer Ball. She keeps telling them they have the wrong person but they just keep shrugging her off. This is a story of two people who have trust issues. Emil was betrayed by his deceased wife and Dani was betrayed by her boss/boyfriend when he dragged her into fraudulent business practices.Their initial reaction to each other is powerful but ends quickly when Dani gets spooked.Their second encounter happens when he comes home from work to find Dani in his kitchen, she is the new nanny - but he fires her on the spot.

Why I gave this only 4 stars .
The main character or heroine was unlikable. 1. As a responsible person she never took blame for her actions, she was tricked fell in love was afraid blah blah. Nothing that happened her fault. 2. Instead of understanding her love interests getting mad maybe having trust issues like she did instead of being adult and trying to figure it out she runway and it was all his fault for not trusting. 3.Not telling him about the baby it is not like he was abusive or neglected his children it was all about her not the child. I also hated how it was the love interests fault for his dead wife's actions, he wasn't there enough for her. Eyeroll ,try being a military wife for 20 years ( which I was) gone for months at s time maybe a year with maybe a month leave to spend at home gone so long that your child doesn't even realize that is dad. Cops firefighters, health care professionals all work long hours . Get over it. Grow up . Stop blaming everything on men and women play no part . Done my rant.

Good romance and another story going on in the background. Worth a read
Dani has been on the run from her ex for years and has virtually been living on toast until she makes friends with Bonnie and her life improves. She gets mistaken for another Dani and a team of women do her hair and make up and then put her into a car to go to the Summer ball. She thought her friend had organised it. She meets the very handsome Emil and even though he wonders where his cousin Danika is he cant resist enjoying the sight in front of him. Another shock is to come when she turns up for an interview for his nanny. Dani tries to be careful about her previous life but Emil wants more from her. Good story

good
This was my first time reading this author’s work, and I did like it, I just wanted blown away. The big hmmmm for me was that Dani spent 4 years in the run from her ex, even changed her name to get away from him, and it doesn’t really feel like she was in any danger. She meets him at a cafe to talk, I mean, huh?! And surely she’d have some sort of criminal case brought against her for deliberately falsifying records and committing fraud; even if she was manipulated into it. Surely that is illegal and dangerous? Plus, if she was so afraid of this ex, it’s questionable you’d go into childcare. Wouldn’t you be putting children at risk? And how on Earth would you even pass the vetting process?!Other than that, yeah good.

Nanny & the billionaire
After discovering the man she thought loved her was using her Dani is just trying to move on and survive. When a misunderstanding sends her to a Ball, she meets Emil and together they are combustible! She thinks she’ll never see him again, but guess who her new boss is? They try to stay professional, but can’t seem to stay away from each other. Her past work/love life and his past relationship converge to pull them apart. I liked how Dani became a woman she was proud of and how Emil realised he needed to be/do more for the people he loves. We get the HEA we are looking for. Enjoyable read.

It was okay
I thought I would like this story more as it has one of my favorite trope.I am not exactly disappointed but I’m not overexcited either. The characters were ok but I didn’t really connect with them and some of their actions got on my nerves. The writing was ok but the plot was a bit predictable. To be fair it’s difficult to really bring something new to the table with this trope but mixed with everything else, this is a just an okay book for me.

Learning from the past
Absolutely brilliant read , loved every second of it .Emil and Dani's story had me hooked from the very beginning. Both have been betrayed in the past ,and walls have been built around their hearts to protect them , but true love now a how to take down walls, one brick at a time .This is a must read
