EcoPureEPINL30 5 Year in-Line Refrigerator Filter-Universal Includes Both 1/4" Compression and Push to Connect Fittings , White

We bought a new GE refrigerator 6 months ago and I ordered this filter at the same time. I did not want to have to pay $50 every 6 months for the GE filters. Our Fridge came with a factory filter already, so we used it for the first 6 months, until it expired. Then I replaced it with a filter plug that GE sent me for free.(The filter plug can be requested on the 800 number, just tell them your on well water and don't need a filter).Install of this filter was very easy, I just pushed the brass fittings into the filter as instructions say. You'll feel them sort of snap into place and they are locked in. Then I used a little bit of teflon tape on the threads and screwed my hose coming out the wall behind my fridge onto the brass fitting on the "IN" side of the filter. I attached the 1 foot connection hose that comes with this filter to the other plastic tube that goes into my fridge and attached that to the other brass fitting that i had put in the "OUT" side of the filter. I used a bit of teflon tape on that too, just to make sure everything was water tight. Then I taped the filter to the back of my fridge, so it didn't sit on the floor. I did not have any duct tape at the time, so i just used packing tape that i had in a drawer. I put like 3 pieces on there, sort of overkill, lol but the filter would get heavier when water goes through it, so I didn't want to take a chance. Then I turned on the water behind the fridge and watched the connections for a bit to make sure no water was leaking. I ran about 2 gallons of water out of my fridge water dispenser, to get all the black charcoal residue out of the filter. I checked the connections in the rear again and all was dry and looking good. I then carefully slid my fridge back into place, making sure it did not roll over the hose/tubing.I'll pull my fridge out again in a week to make sure there is not moisture or leak behind there. At that time, I'll secure the filter to my fridge better with some real duct tape. As a side not, to remind me to change the filter years from now, I just took a small piece of white paper and write todays date on it and at the bottom I put change fridge filter in January 2029. I then taped the small piece of paper to the inside door of my kitchen pantry, where I'll see it periodically when I'm scrounging around for a snack late at night, lol.

If your looking to improve your drinking water this is your solution. I have installed one in each bathroom it a small faucet to wash and rinse mouth as well as to drink water. All you need to do is buy a T and the faucet in addition to the filter. I will link below. I have an old fridge with ice maker but no filter, so the ice was always having a smell and small particles in it, I added this filter and now the ice looks soon much better. Not sure how often this should be replaced but It was a good investment for me

Way cheaper than your big box stores for these plus they come with all of the fittings to make them work without stressing. You do have to run several gallons of water through the fridge or whatever you’re using them for, but that is normal.

We replaced our kitchen appliances, and the new oven came with a steam function. That required a new supply line which I thought was best to filter. It seems to have been performing flawlessly for the 5-year life and chose to replace in kind!

5 years of filtration for that price is amazing. Flavour of the water and ease of installation was good.
