large razor holder with great wall suction hold
This was purchased to avoid having our razors falling from the small half round shelf on our tub shower enclosure. This razor holder has a rust resistant chrome finish on the two round parts of this holder. It is a thick plastic component and the rubber disc with threaded bolt are connected to the top circle. This holder really HOLDS onto the wall. The fork is made out of metal that holds the razors. I can not figure out why the two discs have three holes that are located on the bottom and sides. I was thinking about running a cord through those holds to hold my lathering brush in the shower. This has been on our shower for two weeks and has not fallen even after a household of 5 people using that shower each day.

Made in China. Made for Americans.
I have been looking for a toothbrush holder for more than a year because I couldn't find any in my local ace hardware or superstore. I used to have this Interdesign power lock suction. It was great for a year then it started losing its suction power. The slot for the toothbrush in this Home So Toothbrush holder is a little bigger than the neck of my toothbrush (Oral B Pulsar, my favorite toothbrush), but smaller than the toothbrush's handle so I put my toothbrush upside down, as opposed to what's shown in the product image. The instruction that came with the suction shows that you still need to assemble it but the product itself is already assembled. All you have to do is install it.I have used toothbrush suctions before and the most important thing to do before installing them is to clean the surfaces of contact. I use dishwashers and thoroughly rinse them with water. Then wipe them dry or leave them to dry. Then install them. This way, the suction stays longer.I actually bought two pieces of this home so toothbrush holder and I was really surprised that Home So took a simple mechanism such as suction to a serious device. I mean, you just push the suction and it sticks. But here, you have to twist it so that it develops a more powerful suction force. It is made in China but it seems like it was made for Americans. This product exudes of quality, sturdiness, engineering, and style. If this suction ever fails in the future, then I will update this review.

Modern curved handled razors easily twist and fall out when put in right side up, but works well when razors are upside down.
Suction cup works great on my glass door, but did not work on my shower tile as the suction cup is slightly larger than the height of my tile (this fitment issue is not a factor for my rating as it is not the products fault that my tile is slightly smaller than the suction cup). Since I could not use the holder on my tile walls, I put the suction cup on the glass door. This presented an issue with razors falling out of the holder as the door opened and closed. Old style disposable razors (shown on product page) are sturdy in the holder and do not fall out, however, modern razors with contoured handles fell out whenever the razors wobbled when I opened the shower door. My solution to this was to turn the razors upside down, and now the holder works well. From a manufacturing/design perspective, modern razors probably would not twist and fall out if the openings were narower at the front and wider towards the back of the openings or if the 'fingers' of the holder were bent further upward to prohibit the razor from twisting.

Solid construction but doesn't fit all razors.
On smooth walls, this mounts solid like a rock. If you buy it and have any trouble getting it to stick, I recommend disassembling it completely and starting with just the suction cup part. mine was pressed into the body of the holder and wouldn't form a seal until I took it completely out. After that it worked like a charm. Two of my three razors don't fit in the forks of this. I alternate between a disposable and two safety razors. The disposable (upgraded dollar shave club style) has too much meat on the neck where the blade cartridge mounts which makes it want to spin 90 degrees to slide down and out. So I have to rest it horizontally across the top of the forks, which works fine. I think cheaper disposable razors with the skinny neck would be fine. The Merkur Scorpio razor has a bulge where the adjustment happens so it stands proud of the holder by an inch or so. Since it's such a heavy razor, that position really doesn't inspire confidence in my toes so I will keep it on another shelf. I may grind or bend the pronge a little bit to see if this holder could work better. Finally, I sometimes use a cheap swing-gate safety razor (antique Gillette clone) which works great with this holder. Looks good, holds secure, matches the chrome. Good value, especially compared to the garbage I had previously purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Terrifies the whole family when it falls down at 3:00AM
I selected this toothbrush holder for its appearance. I didn't read any reviews (still haven't) but maybe I should have. We have had this for about 24 hours and it has already fallen off our mirror twice. The first time at around 3:00 this morning, it woke me up thinking someone was breaking in to our home. My 2 year old daughter also woke up and took quite some time to get back to sleep because she thought a storm was coming. Before going to bed tonight she nervously asked if it was supposed to storm and we confidently told her 'no' because we (a) checked the weather report, and (b) removed the toothbrush holder from the mirror in anticipation of sending it back.(UPDATE 3/21/17) Appears to be staying (48hrs now) on the mirror after reapplying with way more force than I was comfortable with. The key is in how hard you turn the outer cover that screws on to the suction cup.

Looks great and suction holds perfectly however the razors fall off ...
Looks great and suction holds perfectly however the razors fall off much too easily if you don't put them on so very carefully and slowly unfortunately. Not very practical if showering in the normal rush of a work morning. And its too easy to knock the other one off when taking and returning your own. Would only hold 2 razors at best or the other one would be constantly falling off. Pity.

Keeps falling off the wall
Very easy to use, looks great in the bathroom to keep things tidy. Every few weeks however it seems to lose its suction and will drop off the wall. Currently this is in our bathroom in the shower on tiled walls - not sure if this is the best surface for the suction power to last and possibly the steam from the shower has an impact.

Good suction when away from direct splashes
First time I used it - it fell off. When I put it up the second time I moved it away from where it would be constantly splashed and screwed it tighter for better suction. I agree only for 2 razors and you have to find a way to hang them so you do t keep knocking them off.Bought this a while ago and it hasn’t fallen off since it was put up second time. I would recommend product.
