It's like shining a bright flashlight that nobody can see.The 4X zoom is just enough; the view would be a bit too shaky while holding the goggles if it were any greater.The large buttons are easy to find in the dark while holding the goggles. You will quickly get used the their function. Tap the left buttons to increase/decrease the IR intensity; hold the same buttons to zoom in/out. I bought this for my husband for a Christmas gift, as he had been wanting some night vision for hunting. He recently tried it out and was very pleased with the night vision capabilities. It is a bonus that it also takes videos and still shots. The digital zoom has room for improvement and it is not nearly the quality of a $900 set, but an extremely good value for ~$250. We are very pleased with the purchase.

I purchased these night vision binoculars for my husband for Christmas. He has talked about wanting some for sometime now. Most I looked at were just too expensive for any kind of quality product. When I found these on Amazon I noticed they had just what he wanted. Sky watching is even more interesting at our house.

The night vision goggles opened up an entire new view to the creatures in our backyard. The clarity and ability to zoom allowed us to see where the wildlife spends their nighttime hours. We have discovered raccoons, owls, roosting birds, and a few very unwelcomed rats! Our backyard is a busy place at night thanks to our night vision googles.

This is nothing like the night binoculars you see used in the movies or the military, but this is a good infrared unit and I'm satisfied with it.
