I've got this setup to be a headphone amp for an RME audio interface output. It's very clean sounding, and I don't notice any hiss or coloration. For reference, I'm using HD800s headphones. Seems like a solid unit. Well see how it holds up over time :)

Power is only assuming 4V input from DAC. A lot of DACs are 2V output and the power numbers this amp claims will be much less. Was very disappointed. If your DAC is RCA output it's most likely 2V or less.

Superb desktop headphone amplifier with pass-through when not using your headphones. I find this particularly useful when I want to use my desktop speakers, simply flip the toggle on the front to "off", and the signal (in my case from a Ares II R2R DAC), right to my speaker pre-amp/amp to power my speakers. When I want to listen to headphones, simply flip the toggle up to RCA or the XLR position and enjoy your headphones ... along with the three position gain toggle, could not be better designed from a usability standpoint. As for sound / performance, there is nothing better in its price class or 2 - 3 times it's price. Check out the detailed review at audiosciencereview.com, this is simply a superb headphone amplifier. Just got one of these and have a Topping A90 with a D10b balanced DAC to do a side by side with several headphones. They sound identical, and I'm keeping the A30Pro as a daily driver with the D10b. The power is the same on all the plugs so you can save a ton of money not having to buy balanced cables. Also don't have to worry about shopping for the 600 ohm Beyerdynamic models since balanced amplifiers usually have just 1/4 the power on the single end plugs. Sound quality is amazing, the Hifiman HE560 has never sounded better, the Aria v2 the same, even the He6se has headroom to equalize in high gain mode. I don't have a Susvara, but can tell you this will easily power anything else in the Hifiman lineup. Also the Beyerdynamic DT880 600 ohm black edition sounds great, with lots of room to equalize, replaygain, or some pre-volume war tracks not a problem. I think of all the balanced cables I bought and times I passed on headphones for lack of single ended power at the time (the A90 has 2 watts, but others usually don't have enough). The A30Pro/D10b is my end game, and the Beyerdynamic T90 is the daily driver, but the Hifiman HE6se is my favorite with it, even more than the Arya. My advice is get the combo I have and just go headphone shopping, since you'll be able to power anything and save money on cables at the same time. It does get warm but not hot, there's no sound in standby mode (some people reported that but it's not supposed to, they got a dud). If it detects over 250 ohm headphones plugged in, it goes into class A mode. If you have a cat, good luck since they will consider it a bed/cat warmer.

Anfangs war ich begeistert, leider allerdings nach 4 Monaten Nutzung defekt. Verbrannter-elektronischer Geruch und kein Ton mehr. Topping sollte dringend was an der Qualitätskontrolle verbessern.
