Works great for making "pour over" coffee!
I've never used a "pour over" pot before so I don't have anything to compare this to, but for me, it works great. I had bought a Bodum pour over coffee maker without realizing that I'd need one of these to make the coffee. After a failed attempt to brew coffee without one I started looking for one with the "S" shaped spout. Not really knowing if I was totally committed to the process I didn't want to spend a lot of money. This one looked nice and was the right price so I figured what have I got to lose. I gave it a good, soapy wash and heated one pot of water that I discarded... then I got to work.I had bought some nice, fair-trade whole beans and used my grinder to get them to a medium grind. Using my own thermometer (which the pot has a hole for) I got the water to about 200 degrees. I poured a little water into the Bodum carafe to warm it up, poured it out and added the filter with the ground coffee. Using the "S" spout... I poured just enough 200 degree water to get the coffee wet. I let that sit for about 30 seconds, then I started adding the rest of the water. Pouring it in a circular pattern... just enough to keep the water level just above the ground coffee. It took about 3 minutes, but once the water was in I poured my cup of coffee. I don't know if it was the beans, the Bodum or the "S" spout kettle, but I have to say... this was one of the best cups of coffee I've ever made myself.Very happy with this kettle and I know I'll be brewing lots of great cups of coffee in the near future.

bad design
This pot would have been perfect for me except for one BIG flaw: water stays in the unit after emptied, even when shaken vigorously. And, I live in an extremely dry climate. All my dishes dry out in an hour or so, but this pot still has water in it the next day! And, after only three uses it already has rust where the spout joins the body. The only solution I can see is to wipe it dry every time, which is not only inconvenient but very difficult since the opening is too small for a hand to fit into. Poor design. Too bad, because the size is just right for me (2-3 cups), and the long, narrow spout pours perfectly.

Fancy little coffee routine
So it starts like this, my sister has a fancy coffee routine. Fancy little coffee grinder, fancy little kettle and a fancy little coffee maker. I was jealous so I bought all three on amazon. This fancy little coffee grinder is a little bigger than I thought but it’s freaking adorable! My super fancy kettle matches all my stainless perfectly. That bad little boy will live on my range top he’s so cute! Now my fancy coffee maker is just as perfect and fancy as can be! It’s really simple, easy to clean. So I ordered everything so it would all come at one time. Needless to say I left work early to come home and start my own little coffee routine. I was spending waaaayyyyyy too much at the coffee shop per week. One weeks worth paid for the entire bundle.

A safety danger!
Had this sent as a gift. After a month or so, the handle separated from the kettle as she was about to pour, spilling boiling water all over. This could have been a serious burn requiring a hospital stay. She trashed the kettle, so I had nothing to return. It's likely too late because it's been two years or so since this happened. So, I was about to give up after my procrastination, but I said, "Hell no!" I want to at least let other buyers know so it doesn't happen to anyone else. Note that Amazon says that this product is not currently available and doesn't know if/when it will return. Perhaps Amazon beat me to it and decided, based on other similar complaints, that it simply won't offer this dangerous product again.

Got a winner
Everything looking good. No melting handle, pours just right, and like the hole on top for the thermometer. Great product for fair price

I just love to drink my coffee every morning now w the pour over method and now that I have my kettle, I am all set! So much easier than the regular tea pot I was using. So happy I purchased this!

Great little teapot
Nice pot that heats quickly, and the spout is perfect for pour over coffee. The little knob on the lid gets hot so need a potholder to remove, but the handle stays cool

Satisfied customers
Bought this for my mom and she loves it. Great size for making pour over drip coffee, easy to hold and "make cycle" when pouring water. Make 3~4 cups one time.
