Classic FM -- Howard Goodall Inspired: The Essential Collection for Piano Solo (Faber Edition: Classic FM)

Excellent cd. Mixture of familiar and new tunes. Very relaxing.

I actually contacted Howard Goodall a few months ago as I fancied playing the Blackadder theme at the end of the Blackadder Goes Forth series, you know the one where they 'go over the top' and it is played in a minor key with tremendous sound and beautifully played. I was really pleased when Mr Goodall's PA replied to my e-mail to tell me of this book and hastily ordered it.It arrived today and the Blackadder theme is just one page and to me looks and sounds like a very simplified version. Perhaps it is my lack of ability and possibly the sound (I am playing it on a grand though) but I am really disappointed. It is certainly not difficult to play, I expected it to be far more complicated but to me it just does not sound like the TV theme - maybe I need to listen again, perhaps it really is that simple?Apologies that this only reviews that one piece of music.
