I did some benchmarking to see how three common brands of GoPro Hero 4 batteries held up against one another. Here's what I found.Testing methodology:Preparation:1. Fully discharge battery by recording video until no longer possible.2. Fully charge battery in a Wasabi Power dual charger.Measurement:3. Insert fully-charged battery into GoPro Hero 4 Black.4. Format 64gb memory card.5. Record at 1440p60Hz until the camera turns off (because the size of the memory card was large, this was always due to battery, never due to the card filling up).6. Repeat step 5 two more times to utilize the last few bits of remaining charge (usually only about 10 seconds worth).7. Sum up the durations of all the video clips on the memory card to obtain the battery run-time, in seconds.8. Repeat steps 1-7 for the remaining batteries to be tested.Results:Wasabi Power Battery #1: 55m49s of recordingWasabi Power Battery #2: 58m28s of recordingWasabi Power Battery #1 and #2 average: 57m8s of recordingGoPro original battery: 83m39s of recordingAnker battery #1: 83m53sAnker battery #2: 80m33sAnker battery #3: 82m48sAnker battery #1, #2, and #3 average: 82m24sYou can see based on these numbers that the Wasabi Power batteries, on average, only lasted 68.3% of the runtime of the original GoPro battery. The Anker-branded batteries were able to keep up with the name brand at a fraction of its price.Conclusion:Wasabi Power batteries are inexpensive but don't last very long.GoPro batteries remain expensive but perform comparatively well.Anker batteries are both inexpensive and perform well.

As with all the other Anker products I have bought, this battery does not disappoint. It works as well as the original GoPro one. I liked it so much I ended up buying 3 of them. I took these to film family on several snowboarding trips and they lasted as long as the original. (Tip: do not leave the GoPro attached to a helmet mount on the lift as the cold air will drain the battery; instead, put the camera in an inside pocket to keep it warm until you reach the top of the lift). The quality is very good and you don't feel like you're buying some cheap knock-off that will burst into flameIf I have one minor "complaint," it's that the packaging is too nice, as with all Anker products. I understand that some people perceive quality based on how good the box looks so I'm not faulting Anker for this. I just wish this trend in tech would stop so I wouldn't have to throw away a lot of good materials I know Anker spent too much money on. I bought 3 of these and might buy more, so it's 3 or more nice boxes I will have to throw away as soon as I get them. You could re-purpose them into little containers for various stuffs, etc., but still...

The battery itself functions great. Fits easily into my GoPro 4.My issue arises with the little tab used to help remove it from the camera. It ripped off very easily and it drove me insane trying to pry the battery out of the camera. I replaced it by cutting a long piece of thin plastic and wrapping it around the camera to pull from the inside.

Does just as well as my GoPro battery, and at a much better price. I get about 2.5 hours of record time doing night lapse videos wit this battery.

Works great, but...the plastic thing that helps remove battery from the camera tore after 3 uses. Simply ripped. Had to use screwdriver to get battery out of the camera. Also, not the best placement of the battery removal tab, hard to reach it.

I started with one of these and just ordered two more. They seem to be working great and just as good as my official GoPro battery. These are way cheaper too. I have always loved Anker products and these batteries are no exception!

Great support battery, works as well as original GoPro

This is a great battery for those who are looking to get a replacement/back up battery for their gopro HERO 4. I've bought other rechargeable batteries from ANKER including cellphone batteries and power banks and they have all lived to my expectations. ANKER really know how to make a good quality batteries.
