iGrip Universal miniGRIPPER Phone Holder Cradle

Needed a basic, simple phone holder to mount in my car without all the goofy arms, articulated stuff, etc. Just wanted something to mount on a flat surface, and this did the trick.

Easy compatibility with all of iGrip's mounts, but this particular cradle COULD be easier to open and close. The release button is hard to find and it takes a little too long to quickly un-mount the phone.

Excellent, fits and works perfect on bikes and bicycles!!Remember that doesn't work on smartphones of 5 inches screens and above...

Yes I know. The description says "MINI gripper" so obviously I have no cause for complaint, right?Here's my issue with this. The description of the device states up to 2.75" in width. My iphone 4 is 2.31" wide, plus a slim cover on it that adds no more than .25" to its width. Truthfully it's probably half that width. So the overall width of my phone is at MOST 2.56", but closer to 2.44".The bottom line is, despite being less than the maximum width of the mini gripper, the only way to get the iphone 4 to sit inside the cradle is to maneuver it in. You practically don't even need to squeeze it shut as it is snug all on its own. The device is CLEARLY not wide enough with the gripper pads in place. And if you remove the gripper pads, What's the point of buying this??? You are losing "grab and go" convenience with this version.If you have an iphone, save yourself the headache and get the "gripper" and not a "mini gripper." Had I realized there was a difference I wouldn't have wasted my money on this one. Honestly I don't know what the point of a "mini" version is in the first place. All the new smart phones are wider than the iphone, what's the point of a smartphone holder that isn't even sized correctly for convenient insertion/removal of a phone with a slim cover?

I am in and out of my car all day long and use my phone for business while traveling. This cradle holds well and it is relatively easy to mount and adjust. The sides feel a little flimsy, but have not broken with continual use. I have broken a few clips, but they were replaced with no charge. I place and remove my phone in the cradle at least a dozen times a day and I have had this product for almost a year and it has not let me down.

This is great, works as intended. The only thing I wish they made available was a base for a automobile cup holder. But hey, I made my own..
