Better Joint
I build a lot of projects with larger lumber, 2x4, 2x6, 4x4, etc., I have found the Milescraft 2.5 inch pocket hole screws to be the best at closing the joint while the glue sets. It's a heaver screw, both in diameter and weight, and works better for me than the other brands. This is especially true if using construction grade (No2 or No 3) lumber to save money.

Useful Information
Milescraft HD pocket hole screws. Important to know, these are not standard pocket hole screws and will not be accommodated by a standard 3/8” jig and bit as well as a t25 driver no less than 3” in length. They will require the larger 1/2” version of such, but all other aspects of pocket hole joining generally apply. This HD version is particularly geared towards joining 2x lumber (I.e. 2x4, 2x6…etc) and can save you some cash vs. using steel brackets. The screw’s themselves are well made, zinc plated 1/4”x2 1/2” from the base of a washer head. T25 drive. I’ve used a few hundred, and reused just as many and have yet to twist a head off. Given time they will begin to rust, more so than the competitors brown coated s3 drive version. 35 in a pack for $5 is a bargain given their usefulness. When used correctly they provide a strong joint and even more so if paired with construction adhesive. If you build things with 2x4’s , HD pocket holes are worth a look and Milescraft HD are a good choice to do just that. And yes, you do NEED the jig and bit, which come together. Milescraft 5207 2.5” HD Pocket screws: Recommended.

Heavy duty but you need the correct jig!
First off alot of people are saying it doesnt fit the holes their existing jig is making which is true because you need the milescraft heavy duty PocketJig300.That being said these are very strong and have great holding power. I have built numerous projects using these screws. The picture I attached is of two 2x10x18ft boards sandwiched to make a garage door header. I used them to hold it in place before further framing and those screws had no problem holding the weight of the board and pulling the wood tight. My only wish is that I would like to buy them in higher quantities instead of 35 at a time

Great screws, but don't fit a normal Milescraft pocket hole
The screws area thicker and sturdier, but the head is larger as well. They don't fit in the pocket hole normal Milescraft pocket hole completely.

Great replacement for Kreg HD 2 1/2" screws. Save over $10 on qty of 125.
Perfect fit to HD pocket holes. I like the star bit better than the #3 square bit that kreg uses very positive connection.
