3D Printing Made Easy for Newbies and Hobbyists: A Quick-Start Guide to Learn How to 3D Print at Home

I’m not much of a reader but I read this book in a couple days. Now I have some kind of idea how to approach this 3d printing thing. Looking forward to it.

Got a 3D printer for Christmas. Yay! Good printer, but with little documentation. I quickly discovered that there is a definite learning curve to using these things. No problem, borrowed a book from the library like ‘3D printing for people with few brain cells’ - if you can read between the lines. Not helpful at all. A friend came by and gave me a start, but it wasn’t enough. So I downloaded this book on Kindle Unlimited. Wow! This was an easy read, and specific enough to get most people off to a good start. The only thing lacking was a discussion of modifying the Z axis to improve the quality of print. If you search carefully enough, you can find that info on YouTube. Other than that, this book is terrific. Highly recommended for beginners! Have fun printing!

I have been thinking about 3D printing for several months. There is a lot of information out there in the ‘verse’, much of it not useful for several reasons.ED Printing Made Easy lives up to its name.Basic, solid, sensible and easy-to-understand info.Limited technical jargon and presented in a manner to help you decide if 3D is for you and what to expect.Thanks Natalie!

Some useful tidbits and some obvious omissions. This 160 page book features double spaced lines through out, so 160 pages becomes 80. There is some good information on the various types of filament materials. It comes up short on the software side having some information on the slicing software but nothing about CAD. I would not expect anything but an overview on CAD but it would be nice to know what popular packages were available. Information on scanning is also missing. A listing for Sites that have downloadable files is appreciated.It will outline the most basic steps for printing an STL file once you have one. I liked this book however it is very basic.

Great book if you start from zero, to learn the lingo, machines, materials and tips to start 3D printing successfully. Combined with the YouTube tutorial from Paul McWhorter (who coincides with the book in most recommendations and tips) I was printing without flaws in no time. Strongly recommended as your first stop if you are interested in 3D printing.

The information is good, more photos and graphics would make it better. I'm a guy, and very visual, pictures always help.

I am new to #D printing and I have read three other books on this subject, and this is by far one of the best books I have read. It explains things in normal terms and doesn't get technical without explanation of what they are talking about. If you're a newbie like me and even if you haven't bought a 3D printer yet read this book. You won't regret it I promise.

Two aspects make this book worthwhile. First, it covers many topics involved with purchasing and using a 3D printer. Second, it is written in a very user-friendly way, so even someone with no knowledge of 3D printing, who would want to take this up as a hobby, would be confident to go forward with their interest.
