Add a power on and off switch.
Very cool and works well with the DOT. The only thing that I wish and the only reason for four stars. It would be awesome if the battery pack had an on and off switch to power off the power to the DOT. The connector that is used to connect the two devices is kind of hard to connect and disconnect. We travel and use this setup at work. I bought the DOT travel case and both fit, but it kind of sucks that you can't turn this battery pack on and off. This would be one of the best accessories for the DOT be far. I would definitely buy another one especially if they updated to have a power switch.

Good device except for the flawed way of handling switching from power to battery: rebooting your Dot 2!
Good battery for use with my Dot 2. I could easily give this 4 or 5 stars if not for 2 things one very annoying.1st annoying design issue is: it will reboot when you unplug the charger even when it is fully charged and it does not last as long as I hoped as soon as it gets down to 2 lights there is not enough power and the unit just constantly reboots. I also have an Echo and a battery for it by another manufacturer and when you unplug the charger cord it switches to using battery power without rebooting my Echo.If someone is in the middle of a call or listening to something and they decide to unplug and go mobile around the house or go outside for party etc... you have to wait for Dot 2 to reboot courtesy of Evo. Fix this as this is a huge design flaw. Look at how the other battery work. I am going to buy one of the other ones for Dot 2 and test it. If they work correctly, then I will return this Evo.The unplug and reboot is a lazy simply not user-friendly way to deal with switching to battery. Thank God hybrid cars do no function this way. Can you imagine!Summary: good device except for the flawed way of handling switching from power to battery: rebooting your Dot 2!.

UPDATED - Easy to install to Echo Dot
Easy to install to Echo Dot. I have not disconnected as yet to see how long the battery lasts. I'll try and remember to update once I do this.4/23/2017This is my update on the battery life after charging. I used the Echo Dot almost non stop [I had it reading] from the time I unplugged and it was powered by battery alone and it lasted about 42 hours maybe a bit longer but she passed out reading to me at some point when I was sleeping. In my opinion it's a good battery, I also think that whether your going to use it in another area or not to make sure you unplug it and let the battery work and not let it over charge [if it can even do that], but like with cell phones we don't charge till dead and then make a full charge when you do this is the way to keep your battery healthy. Hope this was helpful. Enjoy :)

I had to stop using this due to random reboots
At first it was great, but my echo would often reboot when I would pull the charging cable from the battery. At first I thought it was the connector between the battery and the Dot, but no matter how careful I was, it would occasionally reboot as I pulled the cable out. Now it just reboots every couple of nights for no reason, even when I'm not touching it. When rebooting, the Echo would wake me up with the typical startup sounds (Hello!). I guess it would be OK for a party where rebooting just means losing music for 2-3 minutes.Since taking the Dot off this battery a couple of months ago I haven't had a single reboot. I'm now buying a Smatree battery to replace it. I've been using Smatree's battery base for the full-sized echo for nine months with no problemsIt's a shame because it seemed like a great product.

Installed easily and works great.
The battery pack works as advertised and lets you move your Dot around. I found it useful to stream music in my garage when I was working on projects and on my deck when grilling or hanging out - both are places where I don't (yet) have speakers. Only issue I had was trying to connect the plastic connector between the base and the Dot - I found it helpful to not have the units stacked, but rather connect to the Dot first, then stack the units while connecting to the battery.

Great Design
Great product. It is well made and is a snap to setup. It is nice that I can take my Echo Dot with me and not have to worry about an electrical outlet.

A convenient way to save money
I love being able to carry my Alexa Dot from room to room. I know Amazon thinks we should all have an Alexa unit of some type in every room. Especially since they've worked hard recently on making multiple units play nicely together. But, although I wanted the convenience of having Alexa, I don't have that kind of money.I haven't done a time test on the battery, but most days the charge gets me from morning to bedtime with moderate use. If I am listening to music for an extended time, then I do plug it in. Usually that is in the den, so I keep a cable there all they time. But even for going from cable to cable there is the advantage of not waiting for the unit to reboot. With the occasional exception, I can plug it in or unplug it without the Dot noticing any change.I was lucky enough to catch they Prime Day deal price, but I was prepared to pay full price if it hadn't come up that day. And I recommend it even at full price. It is worth it.
