TLDR: Birds were unaffectedI'm cheep and had to try it. These chime a 2 second audible sound similar to a toy car horn once every 30 seconds or so and do not scare birds. I'm growing grass in my backyard and had a serious bird problem eating my seeds. I saw somewhere that these were a good option for birds for a good price. It did not work. My advice is if you're looking to scare birds pay a little more for the proper bird frequency.These work great as described. No problems with the solar. They were chiming for a month in my yard. Nothing against this company or the product.They were munching on my seed and whistling songs inches away from these on the 1st day I put them out. haha learned my lesson.

We have moles returning in close proximity to where these are placed. It appears to me that the switches are low quality and oxidize. I have noticed some stop working and if I cycle the switch several times they start working again. I have been moving them around but we have new tunnels appearing near them especially in the garden. The drill bit included works but is really a little too short. I have been using it attached to a hex magnetic bit holder which gives it a little more length.

Purchased 8 of the probes, charged them for 24 hrs, placed them in active area. 6 fresh holes within 3-4 feet of probes! Verified they are sending out pulse every 30 sec. Very disappointed so far.Day three, same results. My probes are only 17 ft. apart. They are digging within 2 feet of the probes. Probes are functioning every 30 sec. Day 6 see photo same place, even piled dirt under working Probe!!!!!!!!!!After 30 days, total failure. Due to this computer being repaired, I purchased two scissor traps on my wife's (not PRIME account). tried them for two weeks ( buzzers still functioning). Followed all i instruction including Video's. Nada! not one trap was sprung over an active run. I finally went to Lowes. I was going to buy the Bombs but noticed a box sitting on the shelf. In Washington state Exterminators are not allowed to kill Moles/Voles/Gophers. However property owners can do what ever they want. I purchased the box labeled ' Underground Exterminator' for $$$$$ less of the other two products. It is a simple device that has a neoprene cup and coupling ring to attach it to the tail pipe of a car. Attach a garden hose, start your car, locate a hole, remove very little dirt and use you fingers to determine if there is one or two directions the track goes. Insert the end of the hose into to one of the holes. Use something to block a second direction if needed. Cover the hole with the dirt and or grass that you removed. Let it run in each hole/direction for about 30 minutes. I have gone from 10 - 14 new holes a day to two or three (new comers). I have gone up to 4 days without a new hole. Just say'n!

I purchased a different brand of ultrasonic pest deterrent a while back. It worked, but I broke most of them trying to insert or remove them from the ground. See, part of my issue is that my lawn gets good shade, perfect for growing healthy green grass AND delicious soil enriching treats for moles. But because there is low sunlight, I needed to take the spikes out every now and again. It was messy and I broke the other company’s devices within days.Enter Yardec!The Drill Bit Auger that Yardec includes removed my main worry with purchase, making installation easier. No more poking and shoving on cheap plastic and hot glue pieces. Yardec gave me what I needed to get the stake in the ground perfectly each time.The product itself made a noticeable difference within 7-10 days. The moles migrated from my problem spot. But then the tip about moving the device helped me keep them moving to less problematic parts of my yard (out of my grass lawn). The solar charging and annoying sound balanced out. I can turn it off when I’m enjoying time in my yard and simply flick it back on when go back inside.Couldn’t be more pleased with this more humane method of deterring moles. It the wait and hassle sure feel better to me than poisons, messy traps, and torturous live capture items. It feel better about this and my yard is eventually looking better too.

It’s solar powered and seems to be working. I bought two and don’t see any mole holes for a while. However, one quitted working (lasted less than 3 months). I start to see new mole holes.

I already installed the units in my front lawn primarily to get rid of the pests from surrounding houses as they are dirty and not well taken care of. So far it is working and it seems to keep away small bugs not sure if it is suppose to do that or not but no complaints here! Highly recommended!!

Product needs significant quality improvement about the weather/water proof idea! Seal the lens to the body as well as the stem underneath against moisture & condensation! Aside from this issue, units worked, drove the moles away, after 2-3 months. Must have patients as with any of this sort of device.But the moisture/condensation issue must be delt with, before I buy anymore of them!Subscription canceled, till I see or hear of improvements!

I ordered 1 pk (4 ea/pk) of these through Amazon. They appeared to be effective, so I ordered an additional pk (4 more). The first order I received on 4 Feb 23 was fine and has continued to work. The 2nd order arrived 10 Mar 23 and 3 out of 4 were fine. One seems to have a faulty switch and won't stay on when activated. It will buzz for half a second while holding the button in, but then stops immediately when the button is released. I wanted to return the one for replacement. Three of them are fine and have been fully charged and placed in the ground, so I see no point in returning those 3. ... I contacted Amazon but I'm told they won't just accept the one stake. I would have to return the entire pack of 4. Obviously, none of them are new and unused in the box since they have to set in the sun and driven into the ground to function. While the product appears to be okay (7 out of 8 work fine), it is just poor service not being able to return and replace the one that doesn't function properly. OTHERWISE good product!
