Great Bag, but honestly not designed with checked baggage in mind.
I was torn between two different bags. The other one I was considering was a bit deeper and wider, but the same 27 inch length. I decided to go with this one since the strap and the attachments for it seem to be a little more sturdy. The bag is the same color as in the photo, a nice light green. Your uses will probably differ than what I am using this for. I am going to fill this up, take it on a trip to Spain and hand it over to a close friend.Pro's for this bag are:-Plenty of room. I have FOUR king size Egyptian cotton bath towels, two hand towels, 2 wash cloths, a woman's medium size flannel shirt, a boxed wine glass, a high end woman's robe, a set of slippers, a boxed cork screw and a box of four euro/usa wall plugs. I have enough room to add some thing that's about the size of 1 or 2 NFL footballs. So, yeah, plenty of room.- Handle straps appear to be well made. The velcro that holds the left and right straps seems pretty stout and more than enough to keep the straps together. The stitching where the anchors are for the strap appear to be well stitched andout of the way. Hooking up the strap is a breeze.- Side Pockets are over-sized and can be used for items that aren't too thick should the bag become pretty full. I don't see the need for a shoe compartment, and that area is listed below.- The price is pretty decent for a bag, if given some TLC and is not abused, should last a pretty long time. I simply tell myself, if an object below $30.00 gets the mission done, then its a winner. This bag will be checked in as luggage and we will see how it goes.Con's- The zipper pair on the top is a bit small, and I am wondering if this will hold up over time. My aim is to give the entire full bag as a gift to a friend. She will probably use it as a gym bag, and without it being extremely full, it will sag, but thats not too much of a worry.- I can understand the concept of the shoe compartment, and I understand that it can separate the shooes from the rest of the items. This area still takes up space in the bottom of the bag, so be prepared for that. Its something that I probably wont use so I can pack the bag correctly. I simply used some clorox wipes on the shoes - top and bottom - and the shoes fit nicely inside the bag.- The zipper which will allow you to close the bag down to a small package - is at the bottom of the bag. I think this design, if the bag is used as a checked baggage is a potential issue. I can see this zipper dangling at the bottom of the bag getting snagged somewhere within the airport devices that carry or transport it. Time will tell. I think if the zipper was somewhere else other than the bottom of the bag, it would be much better. I may add a section of duct tape to this just before the trip to keep that snag risk down to a minimum.

Excellent bag!
This has been a really good bag - super-thin fabric, but seemingly very strong. Also the zippers seem quite sturdy. I've been using the bag as my gym bag, and dragging it in and out of my trunk and the gym lockers for 3-4 days/week for the last 2 weeks. It's a little large for a gym bag. But the 'unstructured' nature of the fabric makes it SO much easier to push/pull it into the tall, extremely narrow lockers at my gym. Also the padding on the shoulder strap and on the handles make it much easier/more comfortable to carry than my old bag. I generally use the shorter padded handles as a shoulder strap and they work perfectly for someone my height (5'4). The shoe compartment is much roomier than my previous bag - I can easily fit my shoes for work AND a pair of flipflops for the locker room into it, and there is still enough room for at least another pair of shoes. I also really like the large size of the 2 pockets on the front of the bag - generous enough size to hold a lot of things that might otherwise flop around loosely on the inside. I keep a makeup bag and magnifying mirror in left pocket; and phone, keys, jewelry bag and headphone case in right side - and there's still plenty of room left.If you are looking for a protective bag, this is not it. But I was looking for a bag that didn't add a ton of weight to the stuff I'm hauling around now, and I arrange my things inside it in a way that my expensive hair dryer is reasonably protected. For me, it was worth trading padded protection of contents for lightweight and flexible construction.I was also amazed at just how small/flat it zips up! (Not that it'll ever be that way again, since mine's been in constant use.) But my old gym bag took up a good amount of space, whether I was using it or not.

Excellent Bag
I received this bag a few days ago. Although I hadn't planned on it, I used it for computer tools, cables, etc. for a couple of days. The bad I originally used for said items finally came apart after years of use and this bag was the only one I had handy at the moment. I ended up putting probably 100 lbs of networking tools in it. Probably not the best way to use this bag but it did hold up well for the couple of days I used it as such.I'm sure it will be an excellent bag as a gym/luggage bag. Seems plenty durable. It's large so you can fit lots of stuff in it. There are logs of small pockets for various items which definitely will make staying organized easier. My two favorite features by far, however, are how small it folds up when not in use (takes up almost no space) and the pocket for shoes (what an excellent idea). In short, I highly recommend this bag. It is most definitely a great value.

Tall big bag (if you want a small to medium bag, this isn't for you), but awesome! Worth every penny.
This bag awesome. It has room for days, is lightweight, waterproof, sturdy (the material, the zippers, the strap- just all-around), it has a huge shoe compartment (fits my US men's size 12.5 basketball shoes on top of two size 12 1" thick each basketball sandals), and best of all, when not in use, I just fold it up and put it in my smaller waterproof bag so I can pull it out and use it when I need the extra room. I really like the inside flap compartment to keep all of my valuables secure. My only complaint is that it is tall. I feel like it looks really oddly huge when I throw it over my shoulder on my back, but it has a nice sleek incognito lool to it that counters this to where it is not actually concerning appearance-wise.Contents at the moment:-29.5" basketball-Full-size towel-1 set of clothes (jeans, shirt, socks, etc.)-Swimming trunks-Shoes in shoes compartment (explained above)-Gloves in front compartment-5 accessories in the accessory pocket (large cell phone, wallet, headphones, etc.)

What a surprise!
I thought it was a normal duffle bag, but its even better. Came zipped up as a pouch, then when you unzip the pouch it becomes the duffle bag! Double whammy! Thanks!
