Another solid Sengled product!
My his/hers closets are just bare bulbs with a pull chain. Not the most elegant (older home) so I wanted something a bit more “automatic”. I thought my best option would be a smart bulb triggered by a motion sensor but I thought that would be too expensive and a bit of overkill for the application. After some Googling around I discovered a whole line of motion enabled bulbs which I’d no idea existed.I have other Sengled smart bulbs so I was familiar with the brand. After putting these in, I have to say they work brilliantly— pun intended.Light output is very bright and the color temp is very acceptable for the application.Motion detection works very well— even in dark situations. Don’t expect it to work in pitch black though.I wish the light would ramp up/down rather than instant on/off. I think that would make for more of a higher end experience.Overall a great buy for my needs.

Randomly works well; randomly does not.
I placed this in a totally open wall socket, zero obstructions. Flipped the switch on, walked in and it worked! Left, it turned off. Did it again, and it came on. Then stayed on. A very long time (about an hour later I noticed it was still on). I did not "program" it with the on-off switch for always on. I've monkeyed with this trying to figure out what the trick is: sometimes it's fine (detects, comes on, then shuts off when motion stops), other times, it just stays on. Kind of a bummer, I just wanted it to work.

Always stay on in any fixture, need reset from time to time even without fixture, VERY DISAPPOINTED
After several days' use, now I can write better review.Takeaway:1. They will stay on forever if used with any kinds of fixture. Tested on recessive fixture and table lamp.If used in a fixture, resetting them cannot make them working! If you really need to use them (I don't think you should buy them in the first place), you can use an E26 extender.2. Even if you use them alone without any fixture, you might need to reset them occasionally when you find them stay on for hours. That can happen every two days. How to reset: quickly turn off, on, off, on, that will first put it into "always on" mode, then back to motion detecting mode, then the problem is gone, for a while.Below is my original review.Warning: This light bulb is super sensitive, basically make it incompatible with any kinds of fixture. However, if all you want is a super sensitive bulb that can detect motion 15 feet away, you can give them a try.We bought two of these bulbs. When we installed then in a recessive fixture, it just never turned off. Always, turned itself on again after went off for just 2 seconds even if no motion in range. My guess is that it heated the fixture and the heat on fixture triggered it on.In order to test my assumption, I installed it on a table lamp, the same thing happened. Use it with no fixture, it worked as expected. We had no choice but to leave them in the bathroom and the closet, where the bulb can be naked. They did a decent job there. However, we don't need so bright a bulb in a closet!Frankly speaking, other motion sensing bulbs with half of the price works much better than these. I chose Sengled just because I wanted to buy from a brand I know. Didn't expect to be so disappointed.Cheap motion sensing bulbs don't have the same quality nor brightness, but they work! Unless these ones, can't be used in most fixtures.I will not recommend these bulbs to others.

Small motion detection zone.
Looks like it's well built. I bought these bulbs as I have owned other Sengled product and expected the same quality and reliability from these bulbs. The light output is satisfactory and the color is soft warm. What disappoints me is the range of morion detection. You have to be practically within handshaking distance before the proximity is detected. I have one bulb installed in our hallway to enable going to the bathroom at night without having to grope and fumble for the light switch. You still have to grope in the dark for some distance before you enter the very small motion detection cone. There's no way to adjust the sensitivity zone and as such, defeats the purpose for which I bought these bulbs. Too early to comment on the life of the bulb as most LED bulbs last a long time and I suppose these will too.

Works Well in a Gooseneck Barn Light
I bought these bulbs to try out in existing fixtures as an alternative to replacing the fixtures with fixtures with a motion detector feature. I have several "barn lights" that hang over doors. These motion detector bulbs worked well to turn on so I could find my keys in the dark to unlock the doors. They stay on for only a few minutes, a feature that I wish were more programable. I can't complain. They cost a fraction of what new light fixtures would have cost. Note: The fixtures must be open at the bottom so as not to cover over the motion sensor, which is built in to the bottom of the bulb. They are fairly sensitive. A skunk set if off the other night but a large moth didn't.
