I have seen these things for a few years now to help with CV axles, but I always found it easier to just use a pry bar instead. That changed when I got this Ford Escort that I am changing the transmission on and found Ford, in their infinite wisdom, decided to not put any place where you could get leverage with a pry bar on the driver side CV axle. This tool did it though. Just took the tool that was tapered at the end and pounded it down with the hammer, then hit the end on the side with the hammer and pop it out. Makes life so much easier doing a task that is always kinda a pain anyway. But I have a feeling it won’t be as much now with this tool kit.

These tools made it much easier to remove a half-shaft when the car is on jack stands. The compact design allows for work in limited space. A great value at $20.

This was the only way to remove a very stuck CV axle from the differential on a 2004 Toyota Sequoia. A mechanic gave up trying to remove it, and suggested that I just replace the front differential because he was sure there was something internally damaged preventing it from coming out. Well, after removing the diff from the car, I tried one more time in a large vice to wedge the cv axle out with the pickle fork. 50 hammers with a 5lb sledge later and it shot across the garage free! It was an aftermarket cv axle, and it looks like the snap ring had square edges that would not slide over the inside splines of the diff. The snap ring had deep gouges all around after it finally came out.My only complaint is that the fork prongs were a little too close together to fit around the inside part of the cv axle, so I had to grind them down about an 1/8” to get them to fit.

I needed to replace a front CV on my '11 Subaru forester and I wanted to get an actual tool instead of using a screw driver or a tire spoon to pry it out. This wedge fork works perfectly to remove it. The splined shaft fits between the tines and the wedge shape is thin enough to get under the cup. It pulled the cv shaft straight out and I'm happy.

Seeing as how trailblazer axles are finicky to remove, just putting this tool behind the axle and giving it a quick pop slid the axel right out.

They bent immediately while doing a wheel bearing on my 2009 Kia Spectra. However, everything was seized together because of rust from living in WI. They probably work better down south vs being way up north where there’s less salting. Just get these for an air hammer if you live where roads get salted a lot

Had a stuck cv axle I mean stuck. A 5 pound slide hammer would not budge but this did the trick!

These are worth their weight in GOLD! I've broken a mount before and these made it so simple to separate. Felt very foolish for not having these in the first place. The broken mount cost me a lot of money and time. These tools split the axel just like its supposed too. Very grateful.
