A Not So Meet Cute Paperback – 1 Nov. 2021

One of the funniest romance books I have ever read, I was laughing with tears rolling down my face in two scenes in this book - what a joy!!!Huxley Cane is a very wealthy man who runs his family business with his two brothers. He one day meets Lottie, down on her luck and wandering around and she seems the answer to all his problems and he is the answer to hers.Huxley has made a comment to an important potential businessman who can provide him with a lucrative deal he doesn’t want to miss out on. This leads to Lottie agreeing to Huxley’s agreement and they begin to fake dating, although there is much more to it than that which is what makes it so funny.Lottie has her own problems she is due to to a friends wedding where her cheating ex partner and all her friends will be so the agreement with Huxley provides her with a partner to take. They both benefit from this agreement but slowly but surely they both fall head over heels.It's a cute read, steamy and so funny - it’s hilarious and one I would recommend if your looking for a very fun read.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would, but I can't so I'll make it my whole personality instead.Lottie and Huxley are complete opposites. Huxley is straight-laced and organised with a very professional demeanour and Lottie is a walking tornado with no filter. Huxley needs a pretend pregnant fiance and Lottie needs a fake partner for her school reunion. What a perfect match for a contract.I was so emotionally invested in these two and ensuring their relationship worked. The ending had me hook, line and sinker, following Lottie's emotional spiral was heartbreaking and I was rooting for them so much it hurt. The crazy storyline added so much to their fake relationship and I was laughing out loud for at least 60% of the book. The remaining 40% either involved sweating at the spice from Huxley or being anxious about their contract ending.If Huxley is anything to go by when it comes to bedroom manor I am so excited to see what the brothers bring to the table.As a reader, I'm hit and miss with Meghan Quinn's books and mainly gravitate towards sports romances but she knocked this one out of the park. She did so well that I ordered the illustrated hardbacks of all three in the series without reading two and three.

After seeing this book on booktok so often i thought i better give it a go! I am only disappointed i didnt read it sooner!Huxley cane😍 a new addition to my book boyfriends.I loved how Hux and Lotties relationship was not always easy but they always had fun.I laughed out loud during this book!If your like me and have been thinking about reading this book i highly recommend reading it!

There is another book by Meghan Quinn called “So Not Meant To Be” that is a follow on to this “A Not So Meet Cute”, so read this one first, the same characters are in each story.Brothers Huxley, JP and Breaker Cane run Cane Enterprises in LA, they buy properties, revamp them and sell on for huge profits.The oldest, Huxley is the brains and driving force of the company, he is a Billionaire. He is only focused on finding and winning the deals for himself and his brothers.He has his eye on some properties belonging to a business acquaintance Davy, that need developing and he wants to win the contracts. Normally a man of integrity, Huxley is so driven over this one deal that he does something so out of characters for him.To impress Davy, he pretends to be engaged and expecting a baby with his fiancé. Trouble is, he doesn’t have a girlfriend, never mind a fiancé.He needs to find one fast.Lottie has just been fired from her job, wants to move out of her parents home and clear her student loans. Kelsey her sister has started her own business and has her own apartment.Both girls are commiserating over their hard times and Lottie decides she needs to find a rich husband. Her parents small home is on the edge of a well to do area of LA where the homes are mansions.Lottie decides to go jogging through that area in the hopes of catching a rich man.Until she gets lost and needs help to find her way home.I read the other book before this one, it was enjoyable but I prefer this one, because Lottie is not as annoying as her sister Kelsey who features in the other story.I liked the 3 brothers and the character build up of the MC’s plus there was plenty of steamy scenes to raise the temperature and keep it interesting.Meghan has a long list of books to her credit and I will come back to her again for more.
