The perfect gift for the hotheaded executive in your life. Volcano Troll! This little troll of fury measures approximately 2x3.5" (troll head to toes with outstretched arms) and has the temperament to erupt at the smallest slight. A functional piece that can be used as a pin cushion, memo holder (for those 3 a.m. thoughts best not released to the world on social media), and paperweight (to contain pesky papers such as conflicts of interest, resumes of qualified individuals, and intelligence briefings). 50% of the auction proceeds will be donated to the Sierra Club to promote education of climate change. You are bidding on a original needle felted sculpture by Northwest artist, Christine Musser (of Merrikin Designs LLC). Formed with a single barbed needle, this piece was created with repeatedly poking loose wool fiber until it forms a shape which can take several hours. Size a little over 3x5x2" overall including kiln formed glass base (also made by the artist). Comes in gift box. Signed. About the artist: Since the age of 4, Christine Musser has known she wanted to be an artist. Coming from a family of artists and craftsmen (grandfather a landscape painter in New England, father a woodcarver), she grew up exposed to a variety of arts especially drawing and painting. After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Illustration, she relocated to the Pacific NW in 1990 and began painting on multi layers of Plexiglas which led to an interest in fused glass. In addition to over 20 years of glass experience, she currently works in a variety of media including needle felt, silk painting, polymer clay, papier mache, digital illustration as well as painting. She feels her knowledge of various materials helps to keep her work fresh and often finds that a technique that works in one medium can carry over into another and produce interesting results.
