Must have for any homeowner
As someone who has had 2 hot water tanks break and flood this was a must for us! Super easy to install... just connect to wifi and set at base of hot water tank and that's it. It sends us weekly reports to both of our emails and we can check it at any time. It also alerts us for freezing as our hot water tank is in a crawlspace. We tested it in our sink for leak detection before using it and it is loud! Very confident

Products work as expected, great for the price, a few features short of perfect
I bought the 3 pack and proceeded to set them up, the instructions were accurate and straightforward, if a bit tedious, for the first two. Based on my quick test the email and audible notification work as expected . I like the fact that they have replaceable battery, an audible noise (loud!), and an email alert, and don't require any smart hub (after my smarthings hub was phased out, I've been hesitant to take a dependency on a hub). Only downside was one of the sensors didn't work properly on arrival, after a few attempts to troubleshoot back and forth with the seller they sent me a replacement. The seller was responsive and more than made up for the trouble. The email alert provides a quick (<1 minute typically) email notification if a leak is detected, as well as providing a weekly summary tracking things like battery life, so you can know (before it's too late) if it's time to replace the units. You can configure multiple email targets, and using email to SMS gateway I suppose this could also do a text notification. All in all a solid product, time will tell how battery life is. battery swaps require removing 4 mini screws, which is not particularly difficult, but would be tedious to do on several units if the batteries didn't last at least 1-2 years. What would make this an exceptional product is app integration (which would also simplify setup and allow easier management/renaming/etc.), quick change batteries (either one screw or a slide-on battery cover), and the ability to summarize emails (i.e. as you get past 3 devices, it would be nice to get one email digest for all devices vs. 3 emails). Also, some central/app/digest feature would make it more obvious if one of the units dies... an absence of mail if the battery suddenly dies or loses wifi is less obvious than an active alert pointing out that one of the devices isn't checking in.Overall, a worthwhile purchase from a great seller, a good value, and a smart investment to protect my home from leaks.

Good design but bad alert notification
I liked the design. Well built. But I didn’t like that it sends you an email when flood is detected as notification. If I am away, I would need to be checking my email every second to check for flood. It would be nice if you could add this device to Smart Life app where it will make a sound and visual notification if flood is detected. Will be returning this.

Works consistently but poor battery life.
I only get 2 months on a set of batteries. The router is not that far from the device either.

Terrific water detector, helps if you are a techie.
I got the 3-pack and they work great. To set up with your wifi, first pull out the battery-tab to start the water alarm to its internal batteries. Then bring your cellphone nearby and on your phone's wifi setup, look for a wifi network, "ShikeIoT_Leak_Detector". Connect to that network. In about 15 seconds, you'll see a browser with setup instructions: click on the right arrow and then choose your normal wifi network and enter its password. Then click the right arrow. The next screen lets you name the little guy (like "Cottage Water Leak Alarm"). then click right arrow.Next screen is for your email address ... yep, it sends you an email when it detects water. You can add 2 or 3 extra email addresses (using Verizon vtext, I have it send a text message to me directly. Look online for vtext)Finally click on right arrow and you're done. You should get an email from [email protected] confirming that your leak detector is working. Every 6 days it sends an "I am OK" email, with the time/date (well, Beijing time/date), wifi quality, temperature, and battery voltage. It comes with 2 alkaline AA batteries. Mine have lasted over 6 months (who knows how much longer). To replace the batteries, you'll need a small (#0) philips head screwdriver. (stupid design - this should be an easy-to-open battery compartment)Also in the stupid design category: it's kinda big (not much space on my bathroom floor!). It's sleek curved turtle shape prevents me from sticking a good label on it,
