Silicone Seat Cover for Concept 2 Rowing Machine

I love this cover! Although I did not find the Concept 2 seat itself uncomfortable, something about its design was causing really irritating chaffing over typical 10K rows. Shorter rows were fine. I bought the Concept2 foam pad ($3.50) and stuck it on with this over it and the issue was instantly solved. Night and day difference. After the first row or two I don’t even notice the 2 padding layers being there at all. Didn’t affect my posture/positioning that I could tell in any way. For anyone looking for a memory-foam type experience, neither this nor the Concept2 foam pad nor the combo is going to give you that but I found the combo to 100% solve my issue and can highly recommend for that purpose.

A nice heavy duty seat cover, but provides no additional padding to original seat. Feels just as firm and hard as the Concept 2 seat, so don't buy this expecting a softer seat.What does work well is adding a piece of 1/8"-1/4" closed cell foam or packing foam under this seat cover. The seat cover holds the foam in place and adds just the right amount of extra cushion.

I have used this cover to row for 30 minutes and for once it was comfortable. I didn't have to stop to give myself a rest because the sit was killing me. When it arrived, you do wonder if it is going to help because the rubber is thin. I think you should think about it like one of those gel seats that goes on a bicycle seat only it doesn't have the gel. I can't say what makes it comfortable, but it is. Gone is the burn and the soreness after rowing. I would recommend it. However, keep in mind that is a cover and does not have any type of filling, gel, etc inside the cover. It just fits over the Concept 2 seat, but still makes for a comfortable ride.

I bought this for my Concept 2 rowing machine, which has just about the hardest, smallest, most unforgiving seat you can imagine. This cover improved it somewhat, but not enough, so I also purchased a pad made for the seat and put the pad between the seat and this cover. Still not great, but better... I can at least row 5km now without my butt going numb.

I started rowing my Concept 2 on the factory seat alone, then added a folded towel, a gel pad, and finally both the towel and pad.. Nothing helped me get a comfortable workout longer than 15 minutes, so I ordered this seat cover. When I received it I was skeptical about its effectiveness since it seemed too thin. Yesterday I installed it and rowed for an hour, and my skinny 74-year-old butt was fine. I recommend this to anyone not comfortable on the bare seat.

Wasn't suffering without a pad, but adding one made a NOTABLE difference.I'm writing a review because they did not skimp on the silicone. It is thick and really makes a difference.The fit is custom; it doesn't slide around.It looks good, too. V happy with this purchase.

Unfortunately, this seat did not provide the cushion I expected or needed. It fits snuggly on my Concept 2 Rower seat, but I hardly noticed any added cushion. I rowed for approx 3 mins and began to feel the same discomfort from the seat I generally do from sitting and rowing for that period of time.

I bought the black one and you wouldn't think to look at it that it'd make that much of a difference during your workouts, but it helps so much (especially on long rows)!! Fits perfectly on my Concept 2.Give your buns a break and get one!

Having purchased the Vapor Fitness phone holder for the PM5 on the Concept2, and seen a recommendation for the seat cover on Dark Horse Rowing I bought the seat cover. For those with a more adventurous spirit, there’s also and Acid Green and Fluorescent Pink version with matching phone holders.The seat cover fits perfectly. It doesn’t get “attached” with double sided tape or fit under the edges of the C2 seat, it just fits over the top covering the exposed surfaces in their entirety.As per the title, this is NOT to be considered a padded seat cover as there is very little, if any, extra cushioning gained by using this seat cover. For padding, the Hornet Watersports Anti Slip Rowing Machine Cushion would be the way to go.I like this cover as it protects the original seat beautifully and once you’re sitting on the cover due to the texture of the finish, you will not be sliding around at all, at all. A very grippy surface.Well worth the money for a perfectly made and fitting cover. The phone holder is DEFINITELY worth a look as well

When I read about this, I was hugely sceptical, but it does indeed give a much more comfortable position than a classical rowing seat pad, or just the standard Concept2 seat. I row at least 10,000m per session, often the 21,340m half-marathons and it’s absolutely fine. Possibly a bit too expensive for a bit of moulded rubber. Highly recommended nonetheless.

I've rowed about 100,000 metres now with this seat cover and can say it does add a small amount of padding. The seat is approx 0.7-10mm thick of silicone. For me it adds a bit of extra grip on shorts that might have slid a bit without it.

Would of liked more cushion for my pushing... but this is definitely much more comfortable for rowing with and still think it's a void purchase

It makes rowing a little comfier.
