Audio CD Book Lover: Frustration evaporates
I bought this portable CD for my wife for our 32nd wedding anniversary. The reason? We went on a recent trip to visit her Mother which was an eight hour ride so my wife brought 2 CD audio books to listen while traveling.Unfortunately, the AA batteries needed replacing and the CD kept skipping. Moreover, our rental car did not have a CD player. All the problems caused my distress as she is really invested to listening to audio books. So, I determine on the trip to buy this product and my wife has been very pleased. We have traveled around town to test the CD and everything works fine.My wife loves loves the dual headphones so we can listen together. :)I anticipate no problems if we rent another car again without a CD.Signed up for the lifetime warranty and the customer service has been outstanding helping with set up and answering questions.Highly recommend.

Great for your vehicle
I purchased this cd player for my new truck Ram 2500.I hooked it up to the auxiliary jack put my radio on media turned it on & no sound. Then I realized the volume was turned down on the player I turned it up & it sounds fantastic.I went for a ride on one of our crappy roads here in Pennsylvania & it never skipped so I am impressed. I was unsure about purchasing but I'm glad I did. I like my cd's. Now I don't use it for anything other than my truck so I can't review other methods of use.

Dynamic Sound
Recent problems with my Philips portable led me to look for a new player, only to find they're barely manufactured anymore. This player was recommended in two articles I read and had a high customer rating. I like its antique design - faux wood and big silver buttons. The volume knob is manual for fine tuning. Bass boost is available and it's not overwhelming. Durable and easy to use. What's unusual is the lack of a stop button - instead, an on/off switch which is interesting. Sound quality was surprising. On my same headphones I've been using (the included pair aren't effective), tracks I listen to regularly now sound very different, as the clarity and separation are much stronger and more dynamic. Plays everything I've put in it so far, even heavily scratched cd-rs. Very impressive. I've had it about a week; we'll see what happens. I hope they keep making them.
