ZMHOO 5 x Grow Sponges

I haven’t tried these replacement sponges yet. I bought them to have on hand for my next crop. Once you’ve initially used your AeroGarden, the basket nest cups can be reused for growing another crop, but the sponges are not meant to be reused. The reason for that, is because the plant roots so thoroughly penetrate the sponge. If you try to remove all the old roots the sponges just shred and fall apart. This is normal. These replacement sponges made by zmhoo are the same length, and diameter as the original Aerogarden sponges. They are slightly firmer and not as porous. In other words, they are not the same density. The AeroGarden sponges are softer and are more porous. The price for the zmhoo sponges was very good, however I have subsequently learned that Park Seed Co sells replacement sponges for a cheaper price. Perhaps next time I will order from Park Seed Co, but for now I have this package of 30 from the zmhoo company. I hope they will perform well. I will try to come back and update my review once I have tried the zmhoo sponges.

***DO NOT BUY***I should have trusted my gut when I opened them and returned them then. Because now I'm screwed and can't return them. I gave them a chance, I'm out the money I paid because now I'm outside the return window! The only thing you're going to grow is algae!Your seedlings might germinate like mine did, and you'll get all excited thinking woohoo even though these look like garbage and they're covered in algae your seed still germinated... And then they're going to die like every single one of mine has.I have tried seven or eight of these now and everyone has been a failure.They are very thick compared to the original AeroGarden ones. These look more like high density sponges. There's very little porosity.I'm going back to the originals.

Did not fit

Although the seeds do germinate, these are actual sponges so the roots have a difficulty growing through for transplanting. Also the water grows a lot of algae. Not pleased with this product. Would prefer a better growing medium for the plants. Won’t buy again.

Will not buy again as I could not get a seed to grow and would just have mold/ algae growth. Used in my aero garden and went and bought the brand and they work perfect. I had thought I was doing something wrong. Will not buy again you get what you pay for.

They are perfectly shaped unlike the crumbly AeroGarden ones, But I rather have them cause these don't germicide as fast and sometimes not at all.
