DOES NOT FIT ORIGINAL BUTTONEER
I have the original one-piece Buttoneer with a blue handle. when I googled that item it said 'as seen on TV' and promptly sent my order over to Amazon site. I was so hopeful. The refill strip is much thicker plastic and will NOT advance into the mechanism. IT ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT FIT. I am really disappointed. I wasted money on this and should have just applied the cost to purchasing a newer unit. Amazon should remove this refill off their site. Lily Miller

It works
Works as advertised. The inserts won't work in the old style gun. I really needed only plastic inserts, but had to buy the new model gun so I could get the good out of the new inserts I bought.But it all works well, and attaches buttons.

Like the new style
Arrived slowly but packaged well. I won't be without one in my household. I've had a Buttoneer for over 20 years. I use it for fashion fixes, drapery fixes, repairs, etc. This new style is more of a gun type. But the effect and outcome is the same. I keep plenty of refills available as well. It offers perfect solution to holding that scarf or strap just where you need it and easily cuts off when done. Holds those curtains closed where you need it as well. Just so many uses.
