I bought this product not for the purpose to catch hair, but rather to block small pest from creeping up the drain pipe. For this purpose, I do like the product design and I really expect it to work.Other than that, I do have not so good experience with its build quality:1. The basket material is very cheap and flimsy. While I appreciate the basket material to be soft and flexible, so it can contour and hold on to the pipe. The problem is the supporting base rod is made with the same material so it can deform easily unlike the other drain stoppers are all made with rock solid material for this concern. So after a few times of pulling up and down motion. One just popped loose and not respond to the lever. As it just twist loose from the joint rod from these up and down motions. I have to reinstall it and hope it will not bother me again for the same problem.2. You have to be extra careful to install it. When I first install it, I inserted and tried to pull the lever to see how it work. Guess what, it was pulled down too deep and the opening teeth of the basket caught joint edge of drain pipe and make it impossible to move up. I had no choice but to use tweezer to bend all the teeth really hard to totally destroyed it to get it out. Well, I guess this is why they include extra baskets as you are very likely to destroy at least one basket in learning how to install it.3. When I pulled the 1st catcher out from its plastic bag, the cap just fell off. I tried to snap it back on but it just wouldn't hold. The catcher can still work as hair catcher but you can't use it as stopper. Whenever you pull the lever up the cap will just pop off. I contacted seller to ask for a replacement cap but got no response for more than one week. Other than this one bad lemon and poor customer support. The rest still works so far.Overall this is an acceptable product, but I really don't enjoy the entire buying experience with this vendor. The one star rating is to warn potential buyers to be aware this vendor do not stand behind their own product quality.

It obviously is working because the device itself gets clogged easily. Only complaint is that it gets very easily and quickly clogged with very little hair and soap debris. The holes in the bottom could be just a little bit larger as they would still catch hair and any small objects, but would allow better water flow. Easy to install and easy to remove to clean, just a bit of a hassle to clean out each time (have to dig in with Q-tips to get any clogged material out to drop in the trash bin). Irony is that you can’t rinse it out, or else you will just be clogging you sink drain again! Can be pretty gross when cleaning so also advise using gloves. Perhaps a small, cheap hand tool should be included to make it easier to clean.

The drain does work well for catching the hair from going down the drain. The removal of the hair could be gross for some, be sure to remove it daily or hair will start to decompose and smell. My main gripes are that you have to remove it and still have to have a drain stopper for sink shaving. The bottom circle that allows the water to flow through, does get clogged up after about 2 weeks and you ll have to soak it in some CLR to clean it or the water will slow drain until it stops. Wish the bottom holes were bigger to drain better.

This didn’t work in our sink. I was able to install it fairly easily (and I’ve never installed a drain before). The instructions were clear. When the drain was closed, water could still go down the drain. The drain cover is also very tall/thick. The strainer part was very difficult to remove (we never could get it off and didn’t want to break it trying). Even if it had worked as a stopper, I would not want to replace the strainer. I really wanted to like this product! Maybe it will work for you, but I had to return it.

I’ve had a Drain Strain in our bathroom sink for years, and I love it!! Recently repurchased to replace the whole assembly, since it was worn out and damaged by the plumbers who installed a new faucet. Replacement was a breeze and I have a backup for next time. Very highly recommended!!

I used it for my sink however after a week, it actually blocked water itself from draining properly. Unfortunately I didn’t realize this catcher was actually causing slow drain and totally clogged my sink, I assumed I needed to call a plumber who removed this so called drain hair catcher costing me $175 for his visit. I like to return it but I used it for a week. Unless I am doing something wrong which I doubt because it goes only one way plus it doesn’t catch small hair such as mine. Maybe log hair may get caught but I am not sure if it would work at all. In my case, it clogged my drain. Thx.

We purchased the set with two drain stoppers and six additional replacement baskets.Maybe our water flow is faster than normal. If I have my water on full, my sink(s) start to fill. Perhaps that's because I haven't removed the U joints to clean them yet.However, they hold water in when closed. They look great! And we haven't lost anything down the drain since installing them.

Fits & looks nice. Super easy to install. In just a few days I can see its collecting his instead of letting it go down the drain.
