🍽️ Cook Smarter, Not Harder!
The Instant Pot Pro Plus is a fully connected multi-cooker that lets you wirelessly operate the unit through the Instant Brands Connect app. Simply select from one of the 800+ Smart Recipes and the app will wirelessly program the Instant Pot Pro Plus. Simply follow the cooking instructions in the app. It will tell you when it’s time to sauté your ingredients and when you should place the pressure cooking lid over the unit to slow cook your ingredients. You can also wirelessly release steam, or with the one-touch steam release button on the control panel. Program a quick or delayed steam release at the end of a cooking program too, making it easier than ever to use an Instant Pot. The 3-ply stainless steel inner cooking pot’s aluminum core offers faster, more even heating, and greater searing. It’s versatile too, meaning you can use the inner pot on your stove top or in the oven. The control panel is easy to use, and it includes status messages to guide you through various cooking programs.

Great cooker! Just get one!
This is going to be a god send for me. I ordered it because of the wifi connecyion it has. Im 62 and have macular degeneratio, and trying to read small type is getting to be a challange. But to the rescue comes wifi. I should be able to make tasty food quick and simple now. Boiled eggs are easy. Try this. 1cup water, put the trivet that came with it in, put as many eggs in as you like, push pressure cook, set 2 min, and keep warm. Let it naturally release pressure fot 12 to 13 min. Make a ice bath to cool them. When 13 min of natural pressure release is done release pressure, open pot and put eggs in ice bath for 15 min. The perfect cook. They will peal easy as well.

Pricey - but much better than the RIO
After purchasing the RIO, which we returned, we moved up the the Instant Pot Pro Plus. The Pro Plus has wonderful features and is a nice upgrade over our former LUX V3 which died after being accidentally dropped. We really like the steam release Pulse feature and the handles on the interior pot. Hard boiled eggs are a breeze to make - set it and forget it. Four minutes pressure cook with a Pulse release and you have perfect hard boiled eggs. We found Quick release cracks the eggs. If you like soft yokes, drop the cook time to 3 minutes. Works perfectly every time. We remove the inside pot and add cold water - ice and soak eggs for 5 minutes. The eggs are a breeze to peal too! We cook many other things in this pot and are very satisfied with our purchase. The only downside is the weight, it's a bit heavy, so use two hands when carrying to avoid dropping. YMMV

Beautiful upgrade
I had a IP Duo with the air fryer lid for a while which worked pretty good. I bought an air fryer countertop oven recently so I decided to upgrade my IP too.I would suggest testing the machine out within the return window and not leave it sitting around… otherwise you’re stuck with an expensive machine that you can’t return if it’s faulty!I was so excited to try this out but the first IP Pro Plus I received was faulty. It didn’t pass the water test. It was heating and built pressure and locking however the machine just kept reading pre heat and wouldn’t Indicate where it was in the cooking cycle and just read ON. I’m thinking the pressure sensor was broken. I contacted IP to see if there was anything I was doing wrong but no answers. I’m not a newbie with the IP as I’ve used it for years… So rather than wait for a response I just did an easy exchange through Amazon.I’ll admit, I was slightly disappointed that *gasp* I got a faulty machine and had already gave away my older IP and had major regret. I usually have good luck with my appliances working with no problems out of the box. Now, I’m not an IP worshipper. I don’t find many of the dinners made in the IP that appetizing because they all look mushy. I’ve tried to be a dump and go slow cooker/IP cook but…. Just not my type of food. I won’t be trying to master a lasagna or a cake in this thing as I can do that in my oven because why complicate things? (Maybe for someone who doesn’t have an oven?) I definitely understand why busy people love it though and there’s nothing wrong with these IP meals. I did try a American Goulash recipe yesterday and that actually came out great. This IP definitely has its purpose in my kitchen though for things that take a long time to cook. I use my IP for making beans, bean soups, pea soup and for when I’m making Birria or Barbacoa (tough cuts of meat). These types of food take hours on the stove and I can set it and forget it and don’t need to be home. The replacement was sent right away and I had my fingers crossed. I preformed the water test and it passed with flying colors. Phew! 😅This model is so shiny and beautiful. I have no trouble seeing the control panel as some users may have mentioned.I love the touch screen and the automatic pressure release settings! The shiny surface resists fingerprints impressively well. How did they do that? What initially compelled me to get this was the wifi feature. I could check from my phone the progress of the cooking or even change or cancel if I needed to. I’ve never really needed to do this however… but now I CAN. I’m not exactly sure how much I will be using the app recipes though. I also liked that the control panel wasn’t crowded with pre sets. I found that in the older models that the pre sets were inaccurate and confusing and I ended up doing the manual setting anyway.I love that you don’t need to touch the steam valve now! You control it through the control panel. The first thing I made in the IP Pro Plus was yogurt. I had never made it in my IP in the past (which I was missing out on) It was truly effortless and I will be making it regularly. I just ordered a backup pot for when the pot will be in use because the yogurt process is so long.So far I’m loving how pretty they made this and it looks high end on my counter and it works exactly how it should.FYI*Nutriboost Feature*I tried this out when I made my beans and the setting is supposed to “stir” the food somehow. I think it boils it in bursts (or somehow?)So during the last 15 mins of cooking it will start doing the nutriboost process and that will involve the cooker to pulse steam every 5 or maybe 10 seconds for the last 15 mins of cooking.

Easy to use for first timer
A very nice set up to do almost anything! App recipes aren’t always the best. Instructions can be difficult unless you YouTube or Google some stuff.

Better Features than Older Models - But Several Important Differences
This is my second instant pot. My IP Ultra model recently died so I had to upgrade. Here are several important differences from previous models:1) The inner pot has two hand holders - this is great because the previous models would swirl around when stirring. This new version prevents that from happening.2) The cord is not removable - not a huge deal, but wondering why they would make this change. The cord is located in the back left corner. So plugging into an outlet on the back right made for a strange bend in the cord. Wondering why they can't simply place the cord in the back middle. Not a deal breaker for me, but you should be aware of it.3) Steam valve: this works a bit differently than other models. No way to manually vent or release steam. It has to be done through the control panel. It is possible to change the setting mid-stream, but there is a delay of a few seconds once you input on the control panel.4) Older IP accessories may not work - I used to do Pot-in-Pot cooking with a 2 level PIP on top of a trivet. This worked fine in my Instant Pot Ultra. But the first time I tried it in my IP Pro Plus, the pin got stuck, and the lid locked closed. I couldn't open it because the pin needed room to clear. I managed to figure a way out to open it by turning the pot upside down. But this new IP seems to have a slightly lower clearance. So you'll have to use a shorter trivet, or a shorter PIP. Otherwise your lid may get stuck in locked mode. The bluetooth/wireless feature seems nice, but I tend to use the pot while I'm at home anyway. So I'm not sure how helpful it will be over time. But you do have the ability to turn on the IP while you're away from home. It involves downloading an app and connecting your IP to the wifi. The phone app gives notifications when the pre-heating is done, so thats a nice feature. The other main reason I bought this was because of the pressure canning. You can fit up to 4 quart size mason jars to can food. This is really nice. Because of its higher temperature/pressure abilities, this IP can theoretically cook food faster vs older models. I haven't tried it out yet. They also have a feature called "Nutriboost". This is simply a feature where the IP lets out steam periodically. Food in the inner pot then gets agitated. If this is done periodically throughout, then the food gets stirred. Its good for things like risotto and dhals where you want a smooth consistency. Its a nice feature but the name is a little misleading -- nothing about this boosts nutrition. It is simply a fancy way to stir your food while pressure cooking.
