Can't pinpoint the country....definitely in Asia, that said we have used it many times and the metal doesn't discolor from heat and it works perfectly.

Q: For serious coffee drinkers did you buy it for the artistic quality only or does it stand up to a daily usage - answer from an honest owner pls.

I bought as a gift for my 22 year old son. He loves it. He loves his coffee. Thinks coffee tastes great brewed this way. It does stand up to everyday use but only makes 1 cup at a time.

Q: How long does it take to make the coffee?

10 to 15 minutes. But it is really cool!

Q: is the color durable and does it look like antique copper? do i need to but alcohol and pads and wicks?......

Mine was not antique copper looking. Other than that the materials are nice/durable. You will need to buy alcohol to use it, but it did come with a filter and a wick.
