Use a Sharpie fine tip marker.
It works as expected. Ball fits good into it, just hold it tight when marking it. A fine tip Sharpie does a good job. Just wait like 3 to 5 seconds after to let it dry. Blow on it for faster if you like. It doesn't bleed unless you slip or use a fat tip marker.

Small tip marker needed
Overall, the marker works as designed. The mold is loose enough to allow for adjustment prior to marking.One thing I found useful, use a small tip sharpie type marker instead of regular or wide tips. The openings are somewhat tight and the larger tips will smear.I found that using a fine tip sharpie actually works pretty well, the lettering and arrows look like there supposed too afterwards. (No smearing)

No slipping
I received the Tin Cup, fits the ball tightly so it doesn't slip while marking, the arrow could be a little bigger. You need a very fine tip sharpie to mark it with. Unfortunately I received the wrong letter, but the day I put in a return item request I received a voice-mail from the company letting me know my correct one was in the mail, with an apology. Within two days I had the correct item. Great customer service!
