Raising Your Spirited Child Workbook (Spirited Series)

I have been struggling with my daughter and our relationship from the time of her birth. I have taken classes, participated in programs, and read books. I have done my research and tried to practice what I learned. Still I had no control over the everyday chaos that was our life. This workbook taught me the understanding of the "spirited" child and gives realistic tools that I was able to put into practice. After reading this book, doing the exercises and continuing to use the strategies within, I believe, that (with my help), my daughter will be able to positively utilize her personality and skills in ways that will benifit instead of harm her. Being a quieter, introspective, inrovert it was difficult for me to to understand and get along with someone with non stop energy and intensity. I am now able to interact with and enjoy my daughter in ways I never thought imaginable. She's not the "difficult" child I thought she was-just different from me.

Think you have a child that consumes most of you - doesn't matter if your the parent or the teacher, as a matter of fact doing it together is better. Work through the book and try to apply one lesson a week, each week add one more lesson. Re-work the book every 6 months to gauge the small changes that come first, and to help keep u pushing along! One child with ADHD, and another that borders on Autistic - demanding 90% of a 24 hour day simultaneously - regardless if the attention was pos or neg. It didn't leave me with much for my "normal" non-demanding child or myself. By the end of the first week, I was getting a different kind of call from the schools - telling me how much change they saw in my all of my kids.If you have children like mine, then you cant afford not to have this book!

I love this workbook! It is a great suppplement to the book “Raising Your Spirited Child”. I have a background in education and many years of parenting experience with 7 children. I was frustrated and discouraged because all of my education and experience did not seem to apply when dealing with my spirited child. These resources have been invaluable! As I came to understand that my child is “ normal but more” I was able to adjust my parenting techniques to meet her unique needs and it has been life changing.

So far so good. This book helps you really understand that your child is not out to manipulate you. It's an awesome break down of why our little people are the way they are. They really do hold some very strong characteristics that we will be proud of later. This book helps you not be so frustrated -- and when you're not frustrated you're a much better parent. Get the book! It's worth every penny and minute of your time !

I downloaded "Raising Your Spirited Child" to Kindle but found it hard to do some of the exercises in a digital format. This workbook is a nice companion to the book and makes it easy to use for referencing later on.If you are like many parents of spirited child you may not have time to read the book. You can absolutely purchase the workbook and get valuable information from it without reading the companion book.

This is an incredibly helpful hands on companion to the “raising your spirited child” book. I cannot recommend this enough for exhausted parents of spirited children.

This book had good ideas but it took so long for the author to get to the point. I couldn't finish it because it was too annoying to read all of the superfluous and extraneous "set up" of each point. I do think there is wisdom in this book - I just lacked the patience to sift through and find it all.

I discovered this book and Mary Kurchinka when I was so hopeless with my 2 yo boy. Now he is 5 and thi book helped me to understand his temperament and how to react in front of his tantrums. I hpo that sooner or later, it will appears also an italian version. I think lots of parents need to read this book, above all to know that we are not alone!
