Just What I Needed
Perfect for my application. Strong yet compact enough to stow inside my MSR pot. I have a couple stainless steel bowls that I nest inside my 1.6 liter MSR stowaway and this lifter is a perfect fit. Seems like it should last a lifetime with reasonable care. Weighs next to nothing yet is strong due to the way it's fabricated. The design of the gripping surface should also be great for not digging into the insides of non stick pots as well. This lifter easily grabs hold of a simple can of chili or whatever in case you feel like heating up your grub without a pot. Using reward points from my Amazon Chase card, I only paid like $3 for it too! Great piece of useful gear for the money. As a side note, the 1.6 liter MSR fits nicely in the MSR fry pan to make a really handy cook kit. I store it all together in a black drawstring shoe bag. Hope this helps someone. :)

Olicamp orange lifter: very functional, nice looking, long and comfortable for big hands, maybe hard to handle for little hands
I purchased the Olicamp pot lifter (orange) in addition to the MSR aluminum pot lifter. I originally bought the MSR because of the stellar reviews. When I received it, it was a lot smaller than I expected. This one dropped in price, so I decided to try it as well. This one definitely is bigger and heavier. That's all relative, as they are both very light. I like the orange color of this one, it's easy to locate. It fits my large hand better than the MSR. I would say the MSR is better machined, but just feels too small to me. Your hand is too close to the pot and heat source. This Olicamp is longer and sturdier feeling for not much more weight. That said, the jaw of this lifter seems like it should been designed with a larger space for the edge/lip of the pot. When closed, the handle is still pretty wide open. For very small hands, it may even present a danger. Like I said, my big hand fits around it fine, but a child might have a hard time holding it tight. That could like to accidents/danger.I like the design of the clip at the front of the jaws. Nice for pickup up the bail on hanging hot items. I also like the "erector set" look and feel. The cutouts make it easy to grip as your skin or glove catch in the holes in the handle. This makes it more stable. However, the holes and all edges are roughly machined and some are quiet sharp. Might want to take a Dremel or sandpaper to them and knock off the edge. Unfortunately, that will damage/remove that nice orange finish.

Turn a mixing bowl into a cookpot
In an effort to backpack as cheaply as possible , I'm always thinking for substitutions from high-priced camping gear . Going to thrift stores , it's very easy to find all stainless steel mixing bowls. Using this handle makes a mixing bowl a very effective cookpot. I like to keep a pot of water on the fire all day for the little jobs of making tea or cleaning up.

I wish I knew about this sooner!
I went on an extreme campout with my son. When we camped, he got the fire started. Needed to boil water in one of those aluminum pots that come with a mess kit. The one with a curved pivoting wire handle. You know what I mean. Well, let me tell you...It was like a scene for Laurel & Hardy, or, Abbott & Costello. Tried to pick it up with the handle and it would tip and spill practically putting out the fire, plus the fact it was hot. tried lifting with a rag on the handle, same thing. It was a comedy of errors. I never gave thought their might be an easier way till I went on a Wilderness Campout with fresh scouts and was demonstrating different fires to make to facilitate cooking. I was demonstrating with same said pot and lamented how hard it was to pick up without spilling the contents when one of the scouts presented this handle. Imagine my embarrassment. So this thing is great. I cannot believe that they do not supply this with the mess kit. That is inexcusable! As a matter of fact, this handle fits nicely in the pot. This handle is indispensable.

nice tool
Item is as described and shipping was fast. It works very well. A minor issue is that the edges on the handle were a little rough. It only took a short time to correct this with a file. I might drill a few more holes in mine to reduce the weight a bit. That should be fine for use with the small, light pot I use when backpacking. I wouldn't try it if the intended use is a large heavy pan.It would be nice if there were available a smaller, lighter pot lifter for use by backpackers. This probably would require a different design. Even if it were a little less convenient to use, that would be an ok tradeoff for less weight.

Almost there
I bought this thing for its cool factor, which it certainly has. I can hardly wait to whip it out, even though I mostly use titanium pots, which have integral handles. I deducted one star because the two parts stuck together slightly, making it difficult to use one-handed. I solved that by judicious application of a machinist's vice to give the inner piece a squeeze. YMMV

Works great for holding pots and pans
Very good and great price. Aluminum construction; lightweight. I have several pans I use when camping and removed handles to make room in kitchen box. This grip does the job and packs away nicely. It does not lock to pan or pot. However, I use a hairband to hold on for short periods of time. Recommend

Great value
For the price, this is a steal! It's lightweight and perfect for backpacking pots without handles. My only complaint is upon arrival the product was deformed slightly (most likely during production), which made the handle stay closed after grabbing the pot. It took a second hand to pull the bottom handle to release. However, I was able to pry the top handle near the rivot/pivot apart and it now works nearly perfectly.

It works. That is about it.
It does what it is meant to do.Feels cheap.Cut out edges could? should have been more rounded/smoothed out.Not sure how it'll handle somewhat a heavier weight.

Good product.
It looks ok to me... It doesnt look cheap o fragile and im sure this will last me a few years. I see some hard edges but nothing crazy. I've been using it quite a lot lately and im happy with it.

Works on all pots
It fits all my camping pots with different attachment points with no problem, and it grips much better than the one my set originally came with. Some of the cut outs are a little rough and it could be a bit longer but all in all it works great. I got two so I could grip both sides of a heavy water pot without spilling everywhere.

First Impressions of this $6.50 gadget
A tad on the short side needs to be a tad longer - 1-2 inches.Definitely suggest to get in pairs. The red wax around $6 but the orange was $22.I think I will tied a piece of orange paracord so that should it be dropped it will be easy to find.

Buen producto
Es de calidad, fácil de usar y no ocupa mucho espacio. Se siente fuerte al usarlo con las ollas, a diferencia de otros que se sienten frágiles. Bonito diseño.
